Has Argentina Become Worse Or Better for Foreign Retirees recently?

Depending how on much you got, CABA and the south are pretty expensive, CABA cost almost the same as where I'm originally from Phoenix Arizona. It cost me $1100 for a signle bedroom plus utilities in Palermo Hollywood, around $600 for food, and e.t.c... Not too bad yet in 2026, but we will see...

Whats up with Argentines not wanting business?

Argentina is like post colonialism still in action, one of the core idea is to drive most valuable resources to the capital, just like what Spanish empire did back then, to fund the splendidness of Spain. So the best are alway found in CABA. Attitude wise, it's a long standing part of culture...

BIG NEWS. Did the federal court just uphold Milei’s DNU and terminated Constitutional right to apply citizenship in federal court?

So I just read the article from March 20th, it’s now official. In the case of a Russian national applying for Argentine citizenship, Federal Prosecutor ruled that Milei’s DNU 366/2025 is legit and fully constitutional. Does this mean the traditional federal court path to citizenship is now...

Argentina’s textile sector reels as import surge hits job

The word “Chinaman” is pretty offensive and derogatory, it's the same to call a black person "N" word or a white person "redneck", it doesn't give you any swagger for using a racist word. It's not something you should be using to describe anyone, and if English is your first language, you...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

I just buy instant coffee make them at home, per serving cost 800 pesos, coffee powder and milk sugar, just as good as in cafe. I don't understand why people would spend 5X,6X more to get a cup of coffee, unless 4K 5K pesos they can just toss them on ground and won't mind to look at it twice.

Maintaining permanent residency under new rules

There is no such thing as the western grandfather rules, it's all about practicality. Check your DNI status on migracion web first, as suggested by Argentine gov during the pandemic, If you see the status is good, then you're good to come back, else not.

What are I and my wife's residency options in this scenario and the new changes?

Just keep renews the precaria, even if it's expired, you're fine, except you can't travel abroad or deal with things like opening a bank account. Sometimes precaria can take months to even to renew, which it would left you stranded for months, but this is coming to a norm these days.
