    Recommendations for an OB

My wife just had a similar surgery in January and her surgeon was amazing. His name is Dr. Tomas Ramilo and operates out of Hospital Aleman. We saw him as a private Dr on a recommendation from a friend and we can't speak highly enough about our experience with him. If you go directly through...

Mother-In-law needs our help and in poor health - Questions on visiting, physicians, etc

Overall I would say Buenos Aires is pretty safe. You may her of pick pockets and thieves and things, but from my experience having lived in Detroit, Columbus, and Houston, it's overall as safe or safer with the general big city precautions. Health system-wise, our experience here is actually...

    Any recommendation for dine-in sushi?

The people doing the ramen from there was Nem; they used Kuda as a pop-up once a week. Kuda was the best price/taste I think. I hope whatever their next thing is still has some portion of sushi. Like Social Izikaya, a mix of bar food and sushi (social's sushi isn't good but the bar food is).

Horse Racing at Hipodromo de Palermo/Hipodromo de San Isidro

I think the season might be over. My wife and I went, we got out tickets online at Ticketek.com.ar. It was a lot of fun, but what we didn't know was the ticket actually gets you in for two matches, one in the afternoon and one later in the day. Even without matches Bocha is open and you can...

    Mental health and prescription pills

I can't speak for all prescriptions outside Argentina being accepted, but I can say generally the health system here is much more efficient than in the US. I had to be checked out for a previously unknown issue and received a check by 4 doctors, an ultrasound, blood work, and medication in...

    eSIM option in Buenos Aires?

Personal's website says they have eSIM but when I went to the stores in Belgrano no one had them, and the main store in Palermo said they don't do them anymore. I do have one tray though, so I use local physical SIM and US eSIM.

    Pizza Update 2022

As a native Detroiter, Togni's has a pretty good deep dish square, not far off from a Buddy's. Demone up in Nuñes has been pretty good too for a Napoletana pizza.

What did USA people here do for Thanksgiving?

I feel like turkey and all that is a very Autumn meal, so we made turkey exactly 6 months from when thanksgiving would have been back in July when it was chilly. Thanksgiving we had some new expats over and had a sushi meal.

US Purchases w/ Argentine Credit Cards

Hello, I have a question for those who have Argentine cc. We are traveling back to the US in Sept and are wondering, is it better to make purchases there with cards from here? From our math, if we are putting money in our account here to pay our bills at the blue rate (or close), if we use...

Question about purchasing spices or bringing them in.

I second the Barrio Chino comment, chinatown. I've been able to find everything I need at the stores Casa China and Ichibon. Garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, nutmeg, coriander, etc, etc.
