Where is the best Pizzeria in Baires these days?

For real Neapolitan pizza, Siamo nel Forno (Costa Rica 5886) is hard to beat. Very friendly staff too.

Mercado Libre On 12 Month Tourist Visa

DNI is the national ID card. You need it for just about everything here. As your wife has a DNI, just put everything in her name - Mercado Libre, Mercado Pago, supermarket discount cards, bank account, etc. You can still use them yourself. Just quote her DNI if ever asked. You can download ML...

    Freshly squeezed orange juice

Pura Frutta is the "other" brand of fresh juice (100% juice) you'll find in supermarkets and Farmacity. Their OJ is a different variety to Citric and they have a good range of juices. Their apple (red and green) and "Detox" versions we like.

    Western Union money transfer

Ha, and the MEP has now dropped below CCL again. Clearly a short term phenomenon! Btw, that's an early update of WU today. It looks as though WU is trying to compete with the dolar blue (currently 870 compra rate).

    Western Union money transfer

So for the first time that I have seen, the MEP rate has overtaken the CCL. If the gap continues to widen it should bring the foreign credit/debit card rate (based on MEP) closer to the WU rate (based in CCL). Indeed, Remitly and Moneygram rates are now already lower than the foreign...

    Western Union money transfer

Interesting. Down, but still well above the close of the CCL today at 887.88.

    Western Union money transfer

Maybe, but the CCL dropped yesterday, yet WU went up. Hence my confusion!

    Western Union money transfer

I thought the WU rate was based (largely) on the CCL, as has been reported on this forum previously. Yet the CCL has dropped significantly, while the WU rate has gone up (more mirroring the dolar blue). As I write, the CCL is 901.20. Will be interesting to see what the WU rate does today...

    Western Union money transfer

I'd say a desperate intervention by the govt to keep it under 1000 before the election. Inevitably it will though after the election. Indeed it did jump over 1000 last week for a bit.

    Radex Registration Problems

I've had similar issues with the Radex system recently. Not your specific issue, but I input my info and got to a point where I had to pay, but the system wouldn't work any further. I ended up having to go in person to Migraciones in the city to sort it out. You can book an appointment online or...

Bicycle repair/service shop recommendations in Palermo

Hi All, Can anyone recommend a bicycle repair/service shop in Palermo, preferably in Hollywood? Also any idea of what to expect to pay for servicing a bicycle? In this case, it's a new bike that was bought on line and needs adjusting - brakes, gears and chain. Thanks!

Sending money from Western Union to Argentine bank account

Thanks Stan. After justifying the origin, any further issue? E.g., AFIP not trying to tax you on it? Also, may I ask what you had to supply to justify the origin? This is as I figured. Justification of origin is surely all AFIP can ask for. And this should be no issue for most, assuming the...

Sending money from Western Union to Argentine bank account

Has anyone on this forum actually been investigated/questioned by AFIP regarding money sent to their Argentine bank account via WU? I read a lot of comments of concern about it (esp if over the now 200k amount), but no confirmation of anyone ever having a problem.
