So for the first time that I have seen, the MEP rate has overtaken the CCL. If the gap continues to widen it should bring the foreign credit/debit card rate (based on MEP) closer to the WU rate (based in CCL). Indeed, Remitly and Moneygram rates are now already lower than the foreign...

I thought the WU rate was based (largely) on the CCL, as has been reported on this forum previously. Yet the CCL has dropped significantly, while the WU rate has gone up (more mirroring the dolar blue). As I write, the CCL is 901.20. Will be interesting to see what the WU rate does today...

I'd say a desperate intervention by the govt to keep it under 1000 before the election. Inevitably it will though after the election. Indeed it did jump over 1000 last week for a bit.
