India, Brazil, And South Africa Want Argentina To Join Brics

First, oil and gas: So you believe that somehow Argentina, who would no doubt also want to extract the oil and gas surrounding the islands, would somehow be less likely to end up having a major oil spill? I don't know what would give you that confidence. Second, militarization: If there's...

    Contact For Temporary Apartment

I had very good luck with ApartmentsChe when I used them in 2011. Well rated on trip advisor etc. and no problems for me. http://www.apartmentsche.com/

    Premier League Football

Down with the Spuds! (Arsenal supporter here). In all reality though, I must say that Bale or no Bale, I have a hard time seeing Arsenal finishing above Spurs this year. As far as actually answering your question, I'm afraid I'm of no help.

    Patagonia: Doing It Right

I just spent a few days in Patagonia (Argentine Side). My takeaways were that Rio Gallegos can easily be skipped, but that Glacier Perito Moreno shouldn't be missed. I didn't use a tour company for the overall trip, but did use a bus service from El Calafate to Perito Moreno. I can't remember...

Street crime as a cultural issue

Good points Alexander. I don't know what the stance is in Armenia on street crime. I do know, anecdotally, of the corruption of the police force in Yerevan. I witnessed it multiple times over little things like traffic stops when I was there. How that does or doesn't contribute to violent...

Street crime as a cultural issue

It's interesting how these things work within a culture. My wife is Armenian, and after spending 6 months in Buenos Aires in 2010, I went immediately to Yerevan to meet her family (she was my girlfriend at the time, and I had to ask her father for her hand). In my 3 weeks there, I never felt...

    How smart are Argentine cats?

I've seen somewhat the opposite, in the sense that spoiled dogs, either in Argentina or elsewhere, seem to have more behavioral issues than dogs who have guidelines they are expected to abide by. But even here, the rich spoiled dogs are generally better behaved than the average dog in the...

    Driving from BsAs

I just recently drove from Mendoza up to Mt. Aconcagua Park which is near the Chilean border. The road was quite good, but it does sometimes get closed due to snowfall in the higher elevations. The ride is very beautiful though.
