    South American Sparkling Wine Rec's?

Nearest to champagne is Cruzat, I especially like their Reserve Brut Nature, followed by the Atemporal line of Alta Vista. Agree that the Maria Codorniu is good bubbly with an excellent price-quality relation. Escorihuela Gascón Extra Brut is okay too. For sparkling rosé, the Foster Lois is an...

    Beers In Ba

My favourite (what most of my fellow sommeliers prefer too) is the Gambrinus Pale Ale, Lager and Stout, served at the Gibraltar, Shanghai Dragon and Bangalore. Very decent beers. Only draught though, not available in bottles to take out.

    The Ashes: England In Australia

I watched quite a bit of the last ashes from Casabar, they were pretty laid back about allowing it to be streamed there on one of their screens. FYI live footage is sure to be streamed through wiziwig.tv, best site by a mile. Let the battle commence!

    Wine From Uruguay

I always bring back 3 bottles and never had problems. Incidentally I particularly recommend Bouza (try their parcela unica Tannat), Pizzorno (Tannat and Blend) and Garzon (one top-class Albariño) wineries.

Bo Sung on Avenida Carabobo in Flores. Excellent food and atmosphere. Go in a group, take a taxi there and back and enjoy!

    Ashes cricket, Red Hot Festival

Just sent you two the link by PM. What a great game that was, I was the Hurlingham no.4. Nice all-round performance from Howard, in the thick of the action, suspect it was you that got me out! Cheers, Nigel

Fastest way to get to La Plata?

Would definitely take the bus over the train (which was painfully painfully slow the two times I took it although I didn't feel threatened at all and it was dirt cheap).

    Ashes cricket, Red Hot Festival

In eight and a half years I've never found any bar/public place in BA showing cricket, so I watch it online (have a good free streaming site, will happily share with anyone who sends me a private message). For the last few series I've been unable to listen to TMS here as access appears to be...

    Asado near Centro?

I'm a big fan of Trapiche, their Bife de Lomo is epic and I always get a warm welcome. Another option is Lo de Mary on Humahuaca and Acuna de Figueroa in Almagro, basic but good steak, very untouristy.

Italian tenant who did a runner owing 3 months rent. Advice requested.

Thanks a million for your posts (concert has been cancelled but thanks for the offer of heckling!). All now in the capable hands of my lawyer, key is to find an address he's living at to start proceedings - if he has no assets in Argentina it will be difficult to recover anything though if he's...

Italian tenant who did a runner owing 3 months rent. Advice requested.

Hi again to all on BA Expats. After the earlier post regarding a criminal landlady (what a scam), here's one regarding a tenant from hell, and to the owners on this forum, a warning not to rent out any apartment to this man. His full name is Domenico Giuseppe Serafino, an Italian musician on...

UK Electronic appliances in Argentina techie question

I've been here almost 8 years, have 3 laptops, toaster, kettle, Ipod charger and other paraphernalia, all bought in the UK with (UK-Purchased) adaptors, and have never had any problem. Anything electronic you need that you can buy in the UK, I recommend to buy there. FYI here's the latest "Ipod...
