    Resiprocacy Fee/lost Passport

Your wife had to interview with some "bozo" because the overstay Visa numbers for Argentines are high. If people would enter and exit like they're supposed to, it wouldn't be an issue. So you can thank la gente for that, actually.

Does Anyone Have A Bike They Are Wanting To Sell?

I have a Men's Diamondback Mountain bike, large size. It's a great bike in good condition. The gears are good but the front brakes need fixing. (Back brakes work). $100 USD. PM me if you want to see photos or more details.

    Beach Holiday Recommendations?

I would avoid Argentina "beaches", they're wall to wall people and are nothing like Thai beaches. The water is also really cold and murky! Your best bet that's relatively nearby is Brazil or Easter Island.

How Far Around Rosadel / Bosques?

    It's marked as 1600 meters--roughly a mile.

    Cristina says "abandon ship"

Wasn't Timmerman the one who met the US cargo plane at EZE and seized its "illegal" contents a few years back? Karma.

    Straight out of Cristina's book.

No. It's only allowed if there is space available, and even then, it's not like flying on a normal plane with seats and flight attendants, passengers sit in those webbed jump seats that go along the walls of the plane (amongst the cargo). The option is only available on flights going to bases...

    Tapeworm!

Wow. That's gross. At least you know what's going on and can now get rid of it. I can't say I'm surprised, though, as everytime I'm in a bathroom, I watch numerous people go in the stall, do their thing, leave the stalls and then leave the bathroom. No washing of the hands at all. My coworkers...

    Brazil to rescue Argentina

Military education teaches those not to question a superior? Are you referring to a specific country's military or just the military in general?

I have plenty that you're welcome to take. Sent you a private message.

    A year in a Slum

ElQueso, thank you for sharing this. I don't know you at all, but the last time you wrote about the conditions your wife's relatives were living in (here in BA!), I talked about it with my partner for days--how do we help people here? Giving money isn't the answer. We want so much to be part of...

    Radical change in rental law

Have you seen the lines outside the US Embassy? I was told that they process something like 1000 Argentine Visas PER DAY. That's just Argentines visiting the US...how many are going to Spain, to Italy, to the UK, Canada? It may be a small sliver, but those "jet setters" are bringing back tons of...

    American Food

I couldn't agree more. The service at TGIF here is horrendous and the food is terrible. I will not ever go back there again.

Get your pots out for the lads!

It is really loud where we are pots banging and cars honking! Does anyone else have more details on this? What is the purpose?

Who's bought tortilla chips recently and where?

I was in Carrefour at Paseo Alcorta on Monday and saw tortilla chips--both Macritos (they're in a red box) and plain Doritos tortilla chips (shiny silver bag). These are the closest I've found to real tortilla chips here.

    Is BsAs over rated?

We live in Palermo and my child attends an all-Argentine school in the neighborhood. Yes, living in other parts of the same city may be very different experiences. Just as living in other parts of the US (besides NYC) would be different. That competition is here as well. The moms in sala de 5...
