I actually have read a book not long ago that has this same theory. The book is a few years old already, published january 2000, by Patrick Burnside. And it makes a lot of sense!!

Actually, you can, if you buy BigMac combos. But that's not the point. We argentinians don't eat at McDonalds or Burguer King on a daily basis. Not even on a weekly basis. For fast food we have panchos, choripan, or beef sandwiches, and they are much cheaper.

If they see the clothes are not new you won't have any problems with customs. Avoid original package and labels and brand new clothes, and you should be fine.
