Who has left or is planning to leave?

Wow, the best love letters to this country and this city I have ever read. What you wrote really moved me, as it expresses many things I feel about being here, put in a way I could never attain. When I first came to Buenos Aires for a week of tourism I immediately understood that this is a...

Tough Times For Argentine Factories As Consumers Penny-pinch

And I am afraid he is going to open up cold turkey, looks like his style, without giving anyone the time to at least try to get more competitive

How much more are you paying for your health (prepaga) insurance?

I guess they don't want to yank the chain too much, given what's going on with the lawsuit hitting the other prepagas...

Milei faces biggest protest yet as students march over budget cuts

Yes, that is true, but why punishing everybody ? Looks like this government is constantly taking the shortcut of cutting everything, so they can then boast on television of a tiny surplus budget, regardless of how much more people is struggling. I guess it is much easier and faster to fdo that...

Milei faces biggest protest yet as students march over budget cuts

Yes, good point about covering the full cost. I was just pointing out the unnecessary (in my opinion) speed at which things are moving

Milei faces biggest protest yet as students march over budget cuts

Well said Sergio! What is really jarring of the changes the government has pushed so far is the speed at which they move. Off topic but yet somewhat related: Subte is going to increase 500% in the next 3 months, to get the fare closer to the real cost of transportation. Is it really necessary to...

Anybody else notice coffee recently not tasting good?

And what about extra virgin olive oil? Why is it so expensive? According to this link, Argentina is the biggest olive oil producer in South America, and yet prices are higher than in the US. Go figure...

Argentina Inflation Near 300% Wipes Out Tourists’ Deep Discounts

This is what puzzles me: inflation was (officially) ~130% before Milei took office, then with peso devaluation and the massive increases it shot to 250%. Now a few weeks after, having destroyed demand and kept the peso artificially strong against USD and other currencies (thus losing...

I just opened a peso bank account with my passport (no DNI or precaria), here's how

Thanks for the suggestion! Right now the primary purpose of a USD account for me is to satisfy the rentista requirements, so as of today I will need to transfer around 1100$ each month, but it is wise as you suggest to start small and see what hurdles are there when withdrawing. I can...

Who has left or is planning to leave?

I guess they do what makes them the most money. With the peso devaluating at two-digits months monthly rate and the dollar weakening, it just makes sense to them pivoting to the peso. I assume that when or if the dollar will start raising, they will pivot once again.

I just opened a peso bank account with my passport (no DNI or precaria), here's how

The Banco Provincia website has a page where it states that you can open an account in USD if you have one in pesos, and a DNI or a passport (para estranjeros). Anyone had any luck with them? Anyway, I got my precaria on Monday and will go there to open an account next week, and I will see what...

Argentina's government (and a bot) say inflation is easing

Greed? Anyway, I would suggest you to shop around, as I have seen that there is no rhyme or reason with prices. Sometimes the difference in price of a given product can be 100% or more
