    Which Travel Agency?

Thanks Zarita. I will check them out. We're interested in a three days package going to Iguazu Falls and this is the quote from Les Amis' website: "El paquete incluye: - Pasaje Aéreo. - 3 noches de alojamiento. - Traslado de entrada y salid..." The price is 1846 ARS per person and...

    Is this website accurate?

I don't know how accurate this website is. It gives the buy/sell prices of foreign exchange from different banks in Argentina. Not surprisingly, the US $ has the lowest spread. However I'm bringing euros and would like to get the best quote. Is it worth chasing those banks? Go to: DolarHoy.com...

Getting Around In Buenos Aires: The Bus System

Very informative. We will probably use buses more than taxis in the city.(at least during the day) We will definitely take colectivo 86 from EZE into town.

    Corruption in Argentina?

How big is the problem with corruption in Argentina. Living as an expat down there, do you have to pay money under the table when dealing with officials (visa extensions, work permits etc.) Or are officials ashamed of extracting bribes from foreigners, while they happily bleed their own...

    Lying game?

I assume the 'casa central' is on Reconquista 266? Thanks.

    Lying game?

Lying game? I hear many shopkeepers stash away their coins in a drawer and claim they don't have any change to give. If I, as a customer claim I don't have the exact change, (even though I'm lying too) and stand firm, surely the shopkeeper will give in? Or so I hope. It all seems rather silly...

    Where do we get off?

Thanks RWS, but we're going to stick to bus 86 taking us in to Yrigoyen/Peru and then walk the six blocks or so. The 'diferencial' sound like aa attractive alternative. Whatever bus departs first from AA terminal 2. I'll try to persuade my wife not to bring to much stuff we'll end up cursing...

    Which Travel Agency?

If we book some of our Argentine hotels through a local travel agency, can we get a 'resident' price rather than paying the higher 'foreigner' price? (One reason why we're boycotting AA and their affiliates and are travelling by bus)

    Argentina short of change?

LOL! Funny you should mention that. We've been planning to take this bus for a while. The latest info I received on the fare from EZE into town, is 1.50 pesos each. I got 16 x 1peso coins with me from the UK.

    Where do we get off?

Thanks for your concerns guys. As we're catching the colectivo 86 at the very first stop or last depending on what way you're travelling. I'm confident we'll get seats. We'll tie our backpacks to our laps with steel wires to deter would-be snatchers. (Only joking; hopefully that won't be...
