I am US citizen retiring to Buenos Aires, with the possibility of marriage to an Argentine national. I love the county and capital, I am at intermediate level castellano and continuing my language studies. I am interested, if marriage works out, in our renting an apartment in Bs. As., with a standard 2-year contract, as locals do, and at the much lower rental rates than tourists pay. I am also concerned about the long-term stability (if that term, in fact applies to anything related to money in Argentina, ha! ...) of the "underground" money exchange system, which rumor has it as of Nov., 2014, is finally being threatened with closure by the central government.
