How much do you tip at cafes and restaurants?

They know the difference between Argentines and tourists. Not sure they necessarily know who is an expat. What's your point? If a foreigner (usually US citizen) gives a big tip doesn't that make staff disappointed when they get much less from Argentines?

Could a spy trust Correo Argentino?

1950 spy film. Cue to 20:45. A foreign spy in the US sends a top secret negative to a Buenos Aires address via ordinary mail. Hopefully you can see it w/o a VPN:

10% for good service is the norm. Less if the service was poor.

How much do you tip at cafes and restaurants?

Isn't tipping over 10% a way of imposing US cutlure on Argentina? Few Argengtines can afford to tip a lot. Why raise expectations to a level that is beyond reality for Argentina? Isn't it better to adapt to local customs?

    Poverty in the USA

The exchange rate fluctuates. Not too long ago the dollar was not gaining ground so costs for expats rose. This could happen again. It’s doubtful though that the COL could ever approach that of the US where property taxes alone are thousands of dollars a year. Also those who have settled in...

    Poverty in the USA

True it's not about Argentina but as there are US citizens living in Argentina on limited incomes, the video may be of interest. Argentina seems to be a haven for a lot of people. The woman interviewed in the video would be better off in Argentina it seems to me.

Dr Charles has a major clinic. He's certainly one of the leading in his field in Argentina. I think on Riobamba. Might be hard to see him personally.

Queen Elizabeth of England dead at 96.

I thought this was BAepsts, not Commonwealth gripers. I don't see how any of this is relevant to this site

Queen Elizabeth of England dead at 96.

You seem very much in favour of national sovereignty. Europe has moved in the other direction: the diminution of sovereignty under the EU. I assume you are therefore pro Brexit and likely for Scottish secession.

The IRS and Expats, FBAR penalties

The first sentence makes no sense to me. "While the American treasury requests financial data from Argentines abroad to send it to the AFIP" The US government is asking for financial data about Argentines who live outside Argentina to send to the AFIP"? Wouldn't the US be interested in US...

    Best fixed price lunch menus?

La Querencia has deteriorated based on my two recent visits. Food served cold; empanadas stuffed with inedible beef, wine that had oxidized. Long waits. I won't go back.
