    bringing iPhone into argentina

We came in Monday with 4 computers, an IPad, 7 phones, routers and more. They definitely saw them, we had them all in a suitcase not hidden at all. They are tools of our trade and we were prepared to argue, but nothing.

    Protecting apt from robbery

I'd worry much more about protecting yourselves if at home during a robbery than being insured. By the time you pay the deductible, they'd have to get a lot for you to recover.

    Move to Buenos Aires?

I think you need to buy. For a truly luxurious rental in BA, from what I've seen, you'll pay over $12K per month. There's a lot of pretend luxury with bafd beds, furniture and pathetic kitchens for less, but to get true luxury everything needs to be imported and few take the trouble to do it. If...

    Any advice is welcomed!

Wages as a nanny or English teacher will make life in BA tough. I think the city looks cheap to tourists as restaurants remain a relative bargain.

    Dental implants.

There are some dentists doing the implant and crown in short periods of time. Some believe it's OK, but you are taking a risk. You can ask your dentist to use a US implant, most I talked to had them. I don't think it would be hard to do the crown in the states. Pelcman is US educated and has...

    Dental implants.

Sam3g, are you coming back? Thy can put in the implant and give you a temp crown. The implant needs to be in for 3 months before they put the permanent crown on. I also use and like Pelcman.

It's time for a New Life...

Why BA? It has the fewest of the multinational companies likely to hire you. Foreign companies are leaving AR in droves. Cost of living is high and salaries are low.

    Getting out of BA?

I'd go to Mendoza. Housing is cheaper and there are lot of decent jobs for English speakers at the wineries.

A simple traffic accident can be dangerous

This has gotten me thinking about the warm welcome our Argentine employees get when in the states. We had a couple here last week who were invited out for drinks by people they met in a bar, remembered by shuttle drivers as "the great guy from Argentina" and just very warmly welcomed.
