Reading these posts about the violence in the streets of BA has me rethinking my visit. I plan on heading down to BA in late October by myself and to stay for a few weeks. Aside from La Boca, what other barrios should I avoid in the daytime? Also, is pepper spray legal? I keep a small spray bottle in my car for trips to Los Angeles. Perhaps a squirt or two would keep robbers at bay.

I love a good Rueben sandwich and meet Jews at my deli here in the states. I have to believe the same would apply in BA. Good luck.

I live in Southern California where there is a fast food restaurant on practically every corner and guess what? Just about everyone is FAT!!! Even the kids! We even have McDonald's in WalMart! I thought obesity was a problem specific to Americans but it looks like it's a world wide epidemic...
