How Can I Bring Money to Argentina/Uruguay?

Thanks, Gracielle. Looks like it's possible to open up an account there, but the don't make it easy. I'll just use my money broker here and save the hassle of frequent trips to Uruguay for withdrawals.

    Blue rate drop

Wow, that's pretty crappy exchange with Schwab. No need for me to pursue that route anymore. Yeah, Xoom/Paypal is rather annoying. And it has limits on the amount. I tried testing out the WU website the other day. Technical issues with their online forms that prevented me from continuing...

    Tango me....

I've been dancing for about 3 years but feel I've never did learn proper fundamentals. Are there any particular instructors at El Beso that are best for a man? How about Sunderland? Do they still have good instructors there?

How Can I Bring Money to Argentina/Uruguay?

Hmmm. That's an idea. What is required for a foreigner to open up an account there?

Alki beach! That and Golden Gardens were my old stomping grounds for some good beach volleyball. Gotta find where they play here. Thanks for the insights. Will also give Pablo Luis a try.

Is Don Julio Parrilla considered THE steakhouse to go to?

Of course, taste is important. I follow great food anywhere. But when having a special dinner with a woman, it's an absolute requirement to also have good atmosphere as well, or else you get in trouble. You ladies know it. LOL. It's hard to be a gentleman... sigh. (kiddin)

How Can I Bring Money to Argentina/Uruguay?

Neil is right. If you don't have an ability to get a DNI and/or CUIL number, then the banks won't allow you to open up an local account. (At least that's been my experience.) Thus, you cannot transfer money to yourself here. And Schwab does NOT have a local office. That means you'll have to...

    Returns dolar turista

I've only been here for a month and the local money has diminished from 60ARS=1USD to 75ARS=1USD. That is freakin NUTS! Went to have a nice celebratory dinner at the 5 star Alvear Hotel the other day and the whole steak dinner for 2 was less than $50 bucks! My friends abroad were flippin out...

    Question for Americans:Voting?

LOL. That was a rather odd and funny moment in the history of US presidential voting process.

Plastic straws banned in BA restaurants.

Even though it is an extremely uphill war against the petro-industry, I do applaud you taking personal steps to make this world a better place for your children and grandchildren. I know I can do a better job with reducing plastic use. Besides, it gives me more activities to do so I don't get...

    There we go again

This is in response to another person's comments, not yours. I'm not sure what Intellect you're referring to. I'm always open to a better solution, but there's no solution in rants. Again, fun to debate, but it's better to hear potential solutions with it.

    There we go again

As angry and as negative as you may sound, especially given the hard life you've had, I see that you still have a positive outlook on life. "So the solution is to get damn good at working the cards you are dealt with." I absolutely agree! Relative to our lifetime, maybe there may be "no...

    There we go again

I'm still hearing a lot of anger and ranting. Same as in all the other countries and continents I've lived and worked in. Fun to debate the causes, but I'm not hearing any defined solution to make your world a better place.

    There we go again

My questions are not rhetorical. I'm just trying to get clarification and understand YOUR meaning. Again, when you mentioned,"The system itself is immoral.", what "system" are you referring to?

    There we go again

What you're wanting is a wish list from Santa. (At least you picked the right time of the year for it:).) It's not a realistic definitive solution, especially among multiple countries. And it sounds like you're saying Argentina is insignificant, the rich are too powerful, and the poor can only...

    There we go again

So what is your solution to control immoral behaviors? Are you suggesting Argentina to be a tax haven in order to flourish? I read a lot of complaints, and I get it, but at least give a solution?
