    Good Roaming Package

Yes I have a post paid plan. I just call *25225 and ask them for a pack, they ask for my birthday and id number to make sure I am who I say I am and then they activate the pack. Easy as pie, 3 minutes or less.

    Good Roaming Package

Uruguay and Paraguay are by far the cheapest, but there are packs for every where. When I go to the US I usually buy a 30 minute pack (15 min incoming calls 15 min outgoing calls) which is enough to get me by on the first day by until I can pop in a US sim card. That cost 120 pesos back in may...

    Olive Leaf Extract

I always drink a couple big glasses of orange juice when I feel a cold coming on mainly because I like OJ and figure it can't hurt, i'm not convinced it really does anything. What I do believe works is sleep, lots of sleep. My GP back in the states who probably burns through two prescription...

    Good Roaming Package

Argentina. Probably would have been cheaper to pop a urugauy prepaid sim in and buy a data plan but I needed to be available contacted by phone.

Gas Oven - High Temp (?)

You need fiber glass insulation. The same stuff you use on ductwork. It's not very expensive. I'd also make sure your oven is able to vent properly and that your gas preasure is within acceptable range.

Gas Oven - High Temp (?)

The majority of cheapo ovens here don't have thermostats which means that the only thing you regulate with the knob is the amount of gas getting burned. Buy an oven thermometer, turn your oven to 160c and check it in an hour, I bet it's over 200.

    Good Roaming Package

I went to Uruguay last weekend, I bought a 300mb which lasted 30 days and cost 90 ARS. I was there for 8 hours and got through about 230mbs. 3G internet speed in Uruguay puts argentina to shame. They also had some cheap voice plans which I didn't buy since I wasn't planing to talk to anyone who...

    Bucquebus Ferry To Colonia

same with the noon one. I don't think they actually operate a SeaCat boatHave you ever actually traveled on the SeaCat boat? In almost 3 year of traveling with them, I never have. In Uruguay remember to use cards not cash (argentine cards if you can, debit works too!) since they refund the VAT...

Why Does An Electric Kettle Cost 2 1/2 Times More Here?

You usually don't run freight on high speed rail lines. I'm not saying it's a bad idea (between buenos aires and rosario, high speed rail to the south is another matter) but in order for anybody to actually use it, it would have to be quite a bit cheaper than this:

Why Does An Electric Kettle Cost 2 1/2 Times More Here?

That's why they have airplanes. Or micros. Long distance passenger trains died out because in order for them to get you there in the speed as you would in a car you need a lot of people to be traveling that route. If the long distance buses services here can't compete on prices with...

Why Does An Electric Kettle Cost 2 1/2 Times More Here?

Lot's of things are shipped via boats up and down the parana river at least up rosario and Santa Fe. Shipping companies pay a toll of over 1000 dollars per ton to do so (I have no idea if they can pay in pesos at the official rate, seems unlikely). As for Tierra del fuego - Buenos Aires You...

Why Does An Electric Kettle Cost 2 1/2 Times More Here?

That's pretty normal and not unique to Argentina. Sea transport is incredibly efficient compared to land transport.

Can I Borrow Your Portable Air Conditioner?

It's the middle of winter so I figure some of you must have one of these portable A/C units lying around unused in storage. I need to run one on dehumidify mode in order to dry out a room. Specifically: It'll only be for a couple of weeks, and it's winter right now. I'll come pick it up and...

    Home Repair Question

I have actually seen a plumber do that, in my kitchen, with me standing a few feet away. No (big) leaks thankfully.

    Home Repair Question

The soapy water bubbles if air blows through it, like a bubble wand. It's a really cheap DIY alternative to using a gas detector -- a tool a gassita should have, yet in Argentina, rarely does.

    Bucquebus Ferry To Colonia

I once watched a Colonia Express manager get down on his knees in front of an entire crowd of customers and look to the heavens, ironically begging for help from God while mimicking the voice of the 70+ y.o. lady who was complaining to him about the fact that they had canceled the boat due to...

    Expat Deported At Ezeiza

Not true. It's about jobs created, not about money invested and trust me people really work it. Just ask around in recoleta.

    Bucquebus Ferry To Colonia

Most banks will raise your daily extraction limit if you're a good customer and ask them to do so. No need for 6 different cards.
