Who has transferred money using a crypto account to Argentina?

Check criptoya.com for current rates. It gives you an effective exchange rate. Fees are generally about 0.5% on home side and about 1% on Argentina side. Sometimes it's fast but usually takes about a day.

Best way to go from Pesos in Arg to Dollas in US

A good option if you can get approved for that amount. I find most crypto exchanges won't let you do more than 5000 USD/month.

Best way to go from Pesos in Arg to Dollas in US

I used to regularly leave Argentina with over 20k. I would tuck it into the pages of a book. I didn't declare leaving Argentina, but did declare coming into the US. They make you fill out a form, and off you go. If the money was originally made in the US, it shouldn't affect your taxes. If made...

    Western Union money transfer

Mine too. Dropped to zero when I logged in. From bank account, to cash or bank account (though I always do the latter). I never received a one-time discount code. I also transferred last week and paid a fee. Not trying to bore anyone with details, just trying to figure out what inputs result in...

    Moneygram transfer

My MoneyGram transfer has been delayed 3 days since I received the "your money has been sent" email. Normally the money follows the email a couple hours later, but not this time. Should I be concerned?

    100% digital banking in Argentina?

They definitely have NOT closed that loophole. For buying stuff in the US with your card, you are only subject to the limits of the card itself. My bank seems to get grumpy around $800. Wilobank is another option, though I have not used them. But I have Brubank and can vouch for them.

Unable to obtain student visa in time (from the US). Arriving in BsAs next week. Advice?

Are you still waiting on the apostille? Or are you on to the next step? If the former, it's possible to pay extra and have the apostille done in like 24 hours. If the latter, I don't have the answer for you but surely someone else on this forum does.

    Western Union money transfer

Yes Santander Rio has always been an issue for me. For me it seems to start rejecting transfers after the 3rd one.

Xoom vs. Western Union - Pros and Cons - Other Options?

Currently WU has the best rates. However the majority of the time you'll get the best rates by sending cryptocurrency to yourself. Check rates at criptoya.com, in the right-most column that says "dolar." There are other more detailed posts on this site about how to do that operation. But...

    International Mail

I'm trying to send a credit card to the US. I took it to the Correo Argentino and they wanted $4100 pesos (~20 USD) to send it in a regular envelope. They demand it be sent certified mail. That sounds like a scam. But I've asked different people on different days and have gotten the same answer...

The Buenos Aires Digital Nomad Program

Vermont pays you 10K to move. BA gives you a SUBE card. Gonna think on that one for a while and get back to you.

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

Yep, just one of those basic card readers you get for free. The ones that connect to your cell phone are perhaps easiest because you just download an app, hook up the reader, and off you go. I tried Square first and they didn't like that the customer and owner had the same name, so wouldn't...

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

Seems to be in place now. Just spent $200 and it gave me a rate of 129. Has not corrected any charges from last week. Anyway I got a rate of 139 when I sent money down there on Monday, so the arbitrage opportunity is basically gone (too small to be worth the trouble) but would like to think a...

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

So your purchase required you to put up a total of 65% in taxes? The government said that that would start happening. However it keeps charging my card only the 30% extra, not the total 65%. Wonder if it will be pulled out later? Or if I'm not required to pay in because I have no income there...

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

When politicians artificially mess with the value of the peso, that's when. To make math simple, let's take the situation as it was a week ago. Official dollar at 80+30% tax=100. Blue at 130. I would send a dollar to Argentina via Western Union or Bitcoin (I prefer the latter). After fees...

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

Have not heard a peep from them. When the impuesto PAIS happened back some time ago, they came out with an announcement immediately. They also started deducting taxes immediately. That's why it's a bit odd.

$200 Limit Now Includes Card Payments

I recently bought some stuff this morning at a US grocery store with my Argentinian debit card. It charged me for the impuesto PAIS as usual, but still doesn't seem to be adding on the recently declared 35% extra. Is that just because Santander has not yet implemented the additional tax, and...

    Currency Arbitrage

I can't help but notice the enormous spread between the official and unofficial exchange rates. Even after the 30% tax and various commissions paid to change currency, it looks like it's about a 20% gain each time you turn dollars into pesos and then back into dollars. I imagine it looking...
