    Bad bus service

Just speaking as someone who used to plan transit service (not here, in the US), it could also be that the bus was going out of service (e.g. at the end of the driver's shift) and therefore wouldn't pick anyone up/was drop-off only. I don't know if that was the specific situation in your case...

Need an accountant to do my monotributo opening and accounting...any recommendations?

Bumping this thread to ask if anyone can recommend an accountant/tax advisor here who has experience working with foreigners who earn income from outside of the country.

USD account for prospective rentista visa

Santander confirmed that the branch at Santa Fe 1146 is still open and offered me the manager's e-mail, pretamozo [at] santander.com.ar.

USD account for prospective rentista visa

The account has a dollar account, the dollars stay in dollars. In my experience, if they're transferred to your dollar account, they're not automatically pesified.

USD account for prospective rentista visa

Could be! I went a few weeks ago, and they haven't told me anything about it closing.

USD account for prospective rentista visa

I didn't have a Santander account, I just got one here. I don't have the branch manager's name or contact, but I went to the location at Santa Fe 1146 in CABA.

Looking for recommendations for best private hospital for a quick visit, in Palermo.

Your mileage may vary with this, but I've found HA to be faster if I go through their "international patients" section than if I go through their regular appointment system.

Anyone able to receive Amazon order?

I'm sure they can, but as for whether it's complicated, you might want to contact the office and ask them. I haven't tried.

Anyone able to receive Amazon order?

The shipment came through DHL, so DHL contacted me to give me instructions when the package was about to arrive in Argentina. I had to do it before the package could be released for pick-up -- I didn't have it shipped to my house, just to the DHL office, but that was just a personal preference...

Anyone able to receive Amazon order?

^ This is also my understanding. I ordered two books from US Amazon a few months ago and was surprised at how quickly and easily they got here. I did have to do a bit of AFIP paperwork, but it wasn't hard. However, it really only felt affordable because I had some credit card points and a gift...

    Greetings!

Welcome! I worked with Celano, and they helped us a lot. They can be a little busy, though, which is my only caveat about working with them. https://www.celano.com.ar/es/

Unregistered SUBE cards face higher transportation costs

I've only been able to top-up at kioscos, the stations don't seem to be charging right now. Also, I was able to register my Sube in about 5 minutes at the Comuna 2 office in Recoleta Urban Mall, with a previously scheduled appointment. I had terrible luck with the online systems for registration.

    Which Type of Residency?

It sounds like you can come through rentista if your company earns you more than the minimum income. I did something similar, just a US-based company.

    Need help with renting

Seconding this point -- we got a "one year contract" by agreeing with our landlord to a series of four three-month contracts. We pay all of each three-month contract's rent up-front in USD, so our landlord doesn't have risk on that end, and it's allowed us to have a longer-term place for a...

Any good Vegan restaurants in Buenos Aires? Where is the best Vegan Pizza in BA?

I'm a big fan of Gordo Vegano in Belgrano -- great sandwiches and postres (try the pie de limón, for sure), their beer and soda/seltzer selection are good, too!

Unregistered SUBE cards face higher transportation costs

Do you know if they're following the turno system at all? Either at Retiro or Recoleta? Asking because I have one scheduled tomorrow at Recoleta that I can't go to anymore, but I'm trying to decide if I can realistically go early or go another day. If I could cancel the turno I would, in order...

    English speaking dermatologist?

I saw Alejandra Anabel Panizzardi at Hospital Alemán, her English is good. As a non-member of the Hospital with no insurance, the initial appointment was AR$15.000 in November 2023. Your costs for labs or meds will obviously depend on the condition, my total cost for my particular situation...

    Doctors fees

Glasses are relatively cheap here compared to the US -- mine were less than $100 with frames, if I remember correctly, though certainly you could pay more if you wanted fancier frames, coatings, etc. Replacing the lenses in a pair of Rx sunglasses I already had cost about $30. You have to get a...

USD account for prospective rentista visa

I typically keep an eye on the newspaper, but also the Celano law firm's instagram posts it. It's the labor ministry that changes it, not Migraciones, if I understand correctly. I don't know that they've decided the amounts for 2024 yet (see below), but I assume I'll send the same amount as last...

USD account for prospective rentista visa

I always extract the money in dollars, but I pay rent in dollars so I don't need them to be pesos. I haven't gone through the process of pesifying at the bank, so I don't know anything about converting it there.
