    Ashes Cricket

I use VipBox for online streaming rare sporting events. Be sure to use an adblocker, like adblock or uBlock in your browser. It's how I watched the Ashes here the last few years.

    Electrician

I just used José's services. He was great; came over within 15 minutes of calling (Palermo Hollywood), gave me a full explanation, in Spanish, on how to fix my blown breaker switch and what went wrong. He provided a full quote with materials, of which he rang the proveedor to confirm prices...

Can I Work With My Precaria?

You can't work with a precaria for residencia familial. It says so in the small print on the previous itself, "no tiene ningún valor legal si no se presente con documento nacional de identidad". You can though work with the precaria trabajador. As to other visas I'm not sure. Here I am waiting...

The Shop That Sells Sunglasses Made From Wood...

...someone posted a while back asking for the location for this place in Hollywood. I've tried to find he old thread but to no avail. Instead I'll post it here. It is called Palo Santo on Bonpland 2215. Great place to find a unique gift. Also, 3 doors down is another store Corchetes that sells...

    A Cook Abroad - Argentina

I got around to watching the program and it was pretty good. Torode was diluted out over the hour long program and didn't raise my hackle like he did in the trailer. The research into feed-lot and grass-fed beef was interesting and there were even a couple of poignant moments that I enjoyed.

Is It Time To Make Peace ?

I've been meaning to tell Ajo to 'shut the fuck up' for a few days now. Thanks, El Queso, for writing the same sentiment with greater eloquence.

    Import Tax Laws?

Is anyone here familiar with, or part of, the murky underworld of commercial imports into Buenos Aires? This seems to be mostly personal advice so far. I'm very interested in finding out more about the possibility of legally importing into Argentina. If not possible now, then at least I'd like...

Looking Forward In Argentina, Business Opportunities

The next 24 months may see the end of the cepo, lifting of importation restrictions, and an economic crash (The classic Argentine reset). Are some of you planning to capitalize on these inbound liberties and opportunities? Will one of us be soon opening Argentina's first Official Apple store...

    New 50 Peso Note

Veering back on topic, then off again: Has anyone else noticed the increased amount of salaries/large payments being doled out in giant wads of 50's? If they are running out of 100 peso bills and refusing to issue 200/500 peso bills, I assume the 50 peso bill will soon be scarce too. I doubt...

    New 50 Peso Note

Hence why the British pulled off the most ambitious long range bombing sortie of the post WW2 era, to deny the Miltary Junta use of its Dassault Mirage IIIs.

    A Cook Abroad - Argentina

That's one thing good I did pick up up from the preview, that he was sourcing the meat and comparing feed-lot practices with the traditional methods here. It would be quite interesting to some people on these forums as the feed-lot/grass-fed question does arise often.

    A Cook Abroad - Argentina

Was the show good in the end? I watched the preview for this and had to turn it off because the presenter was so ghastly, just a pantomime of disconnect between him and his cuisine, audience and subject. I almost cracked a tooth while inwardly cringing in his attempts to fraternise with some...
