    Robberies on street

If he was street savvy he wouldn't have left a bad with 10k even remotely unattended. I wouldn't do that anywhere. U.S., Europe, or Argentina that is just irresponsible.

    Robberies on street

Living in Monserrat I see police everywhere at all times of the day. I generally feel safe though it's still BA so I'm not walking down small dark streets at night.

Work advice and temp residency moving to BA in November

You will need your own visa. Your partner's visa won't work in your favor at all. Likelihood of getting visa sponsorship is pretty low, though it's not impossible. You are going to laugh/cry when you see the salaries here. All is possible, little is likely.

    ATM charges

Living in BsAs with a 3-year old.

I'd recommend searching the forum as this question gets asked somewhat often in different forms. The general answer is if you need to make money in the local ec9nomy to support your family, you're gonna have a bad time (seriously, don't think you're gonna have different results) If you can get...

I Got my Flu shot last week... First time ever.

I had the flu shot in the US in November last year. Does anyone know if that would be the same one as I would get here now? Or is it a newer version here now that it's 2018?

Uber app not working in Buenos Aires

I just used it this morning with a Movistar sim and US credit card, no problem. I know the government asked the telecommunications providers to block the app recently. They were complaining saying it would have side effects (Argentinians using roaming abroad on vacation would be blocked using...

    Sim Card for iPhone

Yea with Movistar you can activate a SIM with your passport. However you need to go to an actual Movistar location, you can't just buy it in a kiosko and activate it. Technically any official Movistar location can do it, but in my experience some will say they can't/don't know how. If you go to...

Aerolineas Argentinas Chosen as Numero 1 in Latin America, by Travel Advisor

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with them to Iguazu and back from Buenos Aires. Relatively comfortable seats and the pilot even did a banked flyover of the falls when on the return trip. Got some nice aerial shots of the falls to complete the trip.

    Wisdom Teeth

Thanks guys, the original dentista recommended it, but she doesn't do the surgery. She referred me to the surgeon for xray/consult early next week. I'll see what they say and get a second opinion

    Wisdom Teeth

So, I went to the dentist this week over some tooth pain and was told I'll likely need to get my wisdom teeth removed. Has anyone had this done here? Any recommendations on a dentist? If I can wait until I make a trip back to the US, is it worth it?

    Amazon prime

Yea, from what I can tell amazon has VPN/DNS relocator's figured out pretty well. I use VyperVPN which works for accessing my US netflix, but no such luck on Amazon. If you go to amazon prime once in Argentina it takes you to a page where you can "watch while abroad" but there are very few...

Can't get a mobile plan anymore?

So a little update on this if anyone is interested. You can activate a sim with just a passport (at least with Movistar, I imagine Claro is similar). No need for a DNI. However, you need to go to one of the main Movistar offices. I went to the one at Avenida Santa Fe 1844. I checked in and they...

compartodepto.com I'll admit, I have not actually rented a room from here, but there are a lot of rooms listed across the quality/price spectrum. Seems like a good option.
