    Soon you will be paying 20 dollars for a kilo of fine meat . The devaluation and getting rid of subsidies on basic services will make prices double in us dollars in 6 months for food and most items.

Now with the rate doubling foods and many services will double .property taxes and stamp duties are now double due to them being payed at official rates. Selling and buying a property is much more costly

    Arequipa is a very civilized city and has a rich history of folklore and the best food of Peru . Its wealthy suburbs of Cayma are imho nicer than zona norte buenos aires

    In peru there are many great cities that are half the price of Biuenos Aires arequipa . Iquitos . Tarapoto . Trujillo and many more . Food is also better and cheaper !

    I agree with Mckenna in some of his remarks . Scratch the thin veneer of civilty here and people can turn against you in a heartbeat . The social divides in Argentina are inmense and will get much worse soon .

    Rents are very dear imho and unjustified for their size . Its impossible to find a good one bedroom apartment for less than 500 dollars a month now in good locations . Even San Telmo and Centro are 400 a month . There are many cheaper cities in Latin America

    This myth of it being extremely cheap is starting to fade away as restaurant meals are close to european prices and good quality food in supermarkets goes up and up faster than than the devaluations . In two years it will be as dear as USA IMHO

    Inflation has been a constant here for 50 years or more . United states has also huge inflation if you consider that in the 1960s one man working could support his family . 2003 to2009 were great times with a lot of hope .

    You do know that from 2003 to 2009 economic growth was close to 10 % every year inflation was less than 20 % and the peso was stable . The minimum wage in Argentina at that time was the highest in the americas it was a great period !
