    there are very few second hand clothing stores here, and second hand anything is much more expensive than the US.....I think this is because people here just dont buy so much stuff. Also, new clothing is not very cheap......so bring what you need. you can probably find the soaps you need here...

    My understanding is that officially you can bring in 10,000 cash ...so if you are coming with someone, that would cover 20,000 dollars...the rest could be in travelers checks maybe? Also, i have never been asked how much money i have at customs, nor have I heard of anyone being asked....

    there is a huge animal shelter in Montserrat on Santiago del Estero between Mexico and Chili that I pass by each day.....I see people bringing in sick or injured animals, also lots of people volunteer and walk dogs each day...sorry I dont know the name or contact info......
