New official exchange rate: 800 pesos per dollar

    - There is no formula to know the premium of the blue peso The Blue, MEP, Dolar Cripto, CCL, etc are all around the same rate because that's the market equilibrium where supply and demand meet for USD/ARS. - Is there any reason to feel safer in the local currency? No. The dollar with all...

BA is incredibly cheap for tourists right now - but will it last?

No it won't last. We have about 6 months more for it to be cheap in USD. Enjooooy!

Actual cueva prices versus what's listed online

It's an informal market - the rate isn't going to be exactly what's listed online, and the rate can fluctuate throughout the day before it's updated online. I usually find the blue to be within a couple percentage points of what's listed online.

Milei Won. He is the new President of Argentina.

If Milei uses the military dismantle the courts and disappears political opponents, I'll become a life long peronist and pledge my allegiance to Maximo.

Is the expat party coming to an end?

Alberto gave China a military base in Patagonia for funds, maybe Milei will give the US one of their own in return for some funds. No good options in resolving the leliqs IMO

Milei Won. He is the new President of Argentina.

Milei could be a disaster. Massa proved he was a disaster. Only time will tell. Either way, it will probably be a rocky 4 years with protests, road blocks, etc from the Peronista machine.

Still waiting for your evidence that Milei is rabidly anti-gay

Trump and Bolsonaro Claimed Fraud. Now an Argentine Candidate Is, Too.

NYT really likes Massa, it's hard to figure out. A candidate that has been linked to narco terror groups and has impoverished millions with his policies.

JPMorgan Sees Argentina Economy Facing Prospect of Hard Landing

Don't mean to gloat and laugh at these geniuses, but they were extremely arrogant and condescending. BTC has doubled and the Norwegian Krone - down 7% on the year against the dollar. Pretty sad for anyone who listened to them.

Economists warn electing Milei would spell devastation

Again, you said that Milei wants to build up the military to dismantle courts? Where are you getting this information? That would be an immediate disqualifier for me. I'm aware of the title of this thread. My undergraduate and graduate degree is in economics and I worked as a trader at a bank...

Economists warn electing Milei would spell devastation

The Massa + K plan has proven to be a failure. We are living it. 50% of the population is impoverished. The young and middle class are fleeing to Europe. We know what electing Massa brings us. With Milei you're using a bunch of hypotheticals because we don't know. For example, will the dollars...

Economists warn electing Milei would spell devastation

Agree. Massa and his team are more polished politicians. They are more disciplined and on message. There is so much fake news about Milei that people are repeating on here even without evidence. I think part of it, Milei is to blame because he doesn't have a clear simple message. Marcri did...

Economists warn electing Milei would spell devastation

I tend to agree with that statement. Since Massa and the Ks have already brought misery and devastation to Argentina, I can't imagine rewarding them with 4 more years. If Milei wins will things get better, probably not, but let's at least try something different. He's not proposing the same...
