    Lassie/laser Eye Surgery

My best friend from Europe, who's currently here in Buenos Aires, got a surgery performed (correction of myopia). It happened just 2 weeks ago, and the result of the Laser/Lasik surgery was, thanks God, perfect. :) So, I'm thinking, it's quite a good way to spend one's (idle) time in this...

    Buying Real Estate in BA

Regarding high-quality apartments (so, not on ground floor) with (livable, big, sunny) balconies, especially if these balconies face a quiet street or back yard, I have not seen their prices fall that much. Top-quality places will maintain their prices or just drop the price by say 10-15% tops.

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks

But when it was Argentina VS Uruguay, you brilliantly explained to us that, it was not about maths, stats and figures, it was 'more complex'. Apples and Oranges. So I guess, when it is Argentina VS Sweden, it is strictly about maths, stats and figures..? Apples and Apples. Anyway, the truth...

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks

Brilliant demonstration. Uruguay therefore has nothing in common with Argentina, I stand corrected. But wait, can our brilliant statistician explain in the same way, why Argentina shall be compared instead with Sweden or Norway?

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks

Not surprising, like the Eagles used to sing: You can enter any time you want, but you can never leave...

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks

Uruguay is not totally ignored, the official position is that Uruguay "should be compared to Santa Fe province". While BsAs is Norway not-Sweden, apparently.

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks

Are you saying that stopping the production and factories, has no incidence on the economy? I know your argument is occasionally used by those who systematically defend the quarantines, but, seriously, how can a quarantine not hurt the economy, please explain?

Lockdown could last another 6 to 10 weeks ....and Economic Depression could last what, 6 to 10 months? years?

    Arrest record during immigration?

There are historians who have researched this topic without bias : As if there's something like a Historian who has no bias...All Historians, being human beings, have biases, whether they're aware of it, or not. And you do, too, heavy biases in your own favor, (as is logical) I suspect.

    Arrest record during immigration?

They view you as hostile, unapproachable, and not likable: are you talking about the forum member Pierre here, or, like, doing some reverse accusation? I mean, you do sound rather hostile and touchy yourself, at times, on this thread. In any case, regarding the past disappearance of Afros from...

    Arrest record during immigration?

Unless you steal from officer Chocobar, though. Not a chocolate-flavored candy bar, mind you. Also, getting shot by a police officer does not qualify as murder, well, unless, as you pointed out, there are nosy witnesses with smartphones. Or CCTV cameras, which are everywhere nowadays.

BA Real Estate market to take a dive before the end of the year.

I wouldn't feel safe buying a property without a public record: and you would be right, one should preferably register one's Real-Estate business deal. But some people don't want the attention, or (for new buildings) are complicated by the fact that the Real Estate Developer has trouble...

    LATAM just filed for bankruptcy

^So it's confirmed, the Covid thing is ecologists' wet dream. No more big, bad planes in the sky. Planet Earth smiles. Middle-class dudes stay at home, slave-working in their city as they are meant to do. All is great.

BA Real Estate market to take a dive before the end of the year.

Well, one could buy in a Villa, no Public Notary needed then :) But there is a couple of other situations where one could buy and no Public Notary would be involved, in one case by choice of the buyer and in the other, the Public Notary would not be able to issue an official document...

Only 7 transactions legally registered. Not the same.

    LATAM just filed for bankruptcy

The prices of air travel, worldwide, will become impossible, un-affordable for middle-class tourists, with half of the global competency going broke. Well done, ecologists are happy. Middle class tourists shall be less happy, but hey, they'll still be able to go on holiday at the cheap trailer...

BA Real Estate market to take a dive before the end of the year.

Matter of fact, if I had "an apartment worth 400k in a good location in Palermo", I would absolutely sell, ASAP, even at 50K less, and buy elsewhere (as in, far from the GBA). Worrisome things are mounting up, if one can read the signs.

BA Real Estate market to take a dive before the end of the year.

If, because of the coronavirus, Buenos Aires turns out to be the global city with the longest quarantine, then I wonder who will invest in the city, given that any new pandemia would have the same outcome, next year or the year after. But sure, most world cities will have the same problem of...

Coup to Bolsonaro, militars took control in Brazil

Depends for whom. Anyway, one might wonder, for tip-top Argentina : what would be the best outcome, a strong Brazil (but, lead by Bolsonaro) or a destroyed, much weakened Brazil, unable to do good business with its neighbors?
