How to call emergency services without a phone number?

What I have found is there is no way to pay without a DNI. I have a phone number, but it doesn't ring and it doesn't allow me to make calls. There is an option in the Movistar app to pay, but it has a required DNI field.

    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

This is a funny thread. I'm enjoying it. I kinda have to agree. I found Argentia Steak Houses in other countires are better than many here in Argentina. I suspect the economy has something to do with it. Resturants will change their suppliers to a lower cost and raise margins in hard times...

    Accessing Medical Care

Any advice on how to access medical care? Mostly I'm asking because I have a two year old. I don't want for her to need medical attention before trying to figure out how I would get her medical attention. My wife and I also sometimes need to access medical care. Any advice would be much...

How to call emergency services without a phone number?

I've been able to get data, but not a working phone number (on Movistar). I have skype (can make international calls). Does anyone know how one could call an ambulance or the police? It seems somewhat crazy that people cannot get a phone number without a DNI. People need to be able to access...

What a year under a climate-change denying president has done for the country

Over my life I have seen the hysterics go from fear of an impending ice age (circa 1970), to global warming, to climate "change". The proponents of ideocracy are getting closer to the reality that climate changes, but no less hysterical. Apparently there is something appealing to post-Christians...

    Looking for help with Visa

My search for help with applying for Rentista visa is not going well. I have read a lot of info on this forum, suggesting the lawfirm Celano - for example - who simply don't answer queries. I found a service run by Russians who charge about $7,000 UDS for a family of three. It seems rather high...

Experience share as an expat - family life

I don't have any experience with the school system, as my daughter is only two years old. I'll share what little I have experienced so far. Buenos Aires is the best city for children and families I have personally seen. There are parks everywhere and each has a playground. The playgrounds seem...

Is zonaprop safe to rent from for short term?

Does anyone have experience with zonaprop.com.ar? There are a lot of scams in the U.S. around apartment rentals on Craigslist.org.It seems risky to transfer a large amount of money to some unknown person because I saw a nice looking apartment listing on the internet. Any idea if zonaprop is safe?

    Finding an apartment?

Does anyone know if its possible to rent an apartment for six months? Any advice on how to go about it? I'm hoping to find an apartment in Belgrano or Recoleta. I've heard rental leases are only for three years. Is that by law? Or the landlord's discretion?

Controlling a USA tablet from Arg for banking etc

One thing you can do, its on the expensive side - but if you are serious - sign up for an Microsoft Azure account - or some similar provider - and create a virtual machine. This is a computer that lives in a cloud, but of course it really lives in a data center. One of the steps is selecting the...
