    What countries have dollarised?

Only 3 are of any importance, and none of them has any similarity to Argentina. Practically every country on the planet had terrible inflation at some point in the past, and taking other's currency wasn't high on the list of solutions. Cannot imagine serious first world country without their own...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

OK, this one looks like serious business, although I'm not sure it has anything to do with Milei. Oil and gas are businesses everywhere, even in active war zones... Regarding your company that didn't like Argentinian business environment, not every company is for every market. If you want...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

It wasn't run the best, but this has nothing to do with socialism. It's like blaming capitalism, when country is doing bad. And there are plenty capitalistic countries not doing very good, and no one is blaming capitalism for it. The same companies that are complaining in Argentina about...

Cry for me... Argentina ranks #1 on Misery Index!

I checked the list, and it's really funny. Spain is supposedly worse than Chad, and Luxembourg on par with Cameroon. If nothing else, it's doubtful.

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

Is it? The company is already making nice profit, while services are lacking. How much is enough?

How much more are you paying for your health (prepaga) insurance?

This cost is absurd. In US most of the stuff is on 6 or close figures, while in Argentina doctor maybe earns 40k, others well below. With one c section they could literally pay monthly wage to all involved...

Javier Milei Ended a DC-Sized Deficit in...Nine Weeks

    I take it as sarcasm.

    Returning after overstaying visa

Due to Lufthansa strike some friends will probably overstay 90 days. Did someone recently paid fine in Ezeiza? How much was it, and with which means it should be paid? It's a family with 2 small kids, if that makes any difference. I was checking online, and I guess it is 20.000 ars per person...

Surcharge for using a foreign card at a restaurant

Few months ago didn't want to accept my foreign cc, then after some thinking also not my debit. That was in verduleria, although fancy one. Before and later it was always discount on cash, never surcharge. I guess the restaurant just has it around, others inflate prices, to offer discount..

JPMorgan Sees Argentina Economy Facing Prospect of Hard Landing

That's a real thing everywhere. Also usa. It takes a lot of planning, and it's a slim chance, but if it goes through, you are left with nothing.

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

Some, like electricity, absolutely. A lot of things, like food, in my opinion not. I understand that many here are comparing prices to USA, but even there plenty of stuff is cheaper. Now in Argentina most of merchandise is more expensive than in europe, while work is valued on 1/3. At least...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

If anything, it doesn't do any good for the stability. When money is involved, stability and seriousness is all that matters. In this regard we can already see, that Milei is failing. The rest remains to be seen.

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

I would like to believe something is set to be shown in 2 years. However, what I see, only recession is set for now. I don't see any real movement towards free market, easier import/export... I guess more could be done, or it was done and I don't see it. But I see real trouble in front.

    Watch Boca Juniors online?

I'm not much into this anymore, but rojadirecta.me did have some streams on Sunday. It was pretty decent. For past streams I don't know, only live.

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

It is obvious that one person can't address efficiently 5% of those otherwise good points. At that point is essential to prioritize. While we know superficially what it takes to have normal country, the biggest problem is, how to get there out of a mess Argentina has been in for decades. I have...

Any ideas why the blue and MEP rates have dropped so much this month?

Yes, Argentina was never cheap, if all was "normal". Plenty of people have a lot of money, middle class as well, and not much competition on the market, also it is remote place, everything must be imported exclusively to Argentina. So people with money buy mediocre products by exorbitant...

Can you fly into Buenos Aires from the UK without a return flight?

Before fully flexible tickets were very expensive, at least from Europe. We don't own several credit cards, and limits are generally low, so for me was usually no go to purchase dummy ticket for 2k+, even if I've got that money back. Since I never cared about immigration to Argentina, I had fake...

Can you fly into Buenos Aires from the UK without a return flight?

It should be OK, but I had problem once in bcn airport with then alitalia, they did not accept it, only flight. I bought flight to Montevideo, and it was OK. Otherwise no way I would be on that plane. Later I faked this Montevideo ticket every time I flew one way, and it was always accepted...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

While I expect him to be better on many fields, I have my doubts regarding certain policies, coming from his ideology. I'm not a fan of libertarian thinking, I prefer public health, against privatisation of critical infrastructure, for free education, for government support on many fields etc...

Is the Milei "Transformation" Failing Already?

If it's good for expats, can't be good for the country. I guess most of us profited by getting Macri on the helm. I had plan outlined well before he was even considered a serious candidate, and liquidate all till February. But I was small fish, can't imagine the damage made by naivety of Macri...
