A coffee for $3.50: Argentina is the most expensive country in Latin America

Those prices are crazy! The San Telmo market has always been expensive, but the prices you are quoting are just off the hook. No wonder the place was empty. I mean, 48K for a steak, who's going to pay that? Something has to give soon. There's no way this can continue until the end of the year...

A coffee for $3.50: Argentina is the most expensive country in Latin America

Who gets to decide what is too cheap? Why should cost of living be a major burden? In most places it is, but it doesn't have to be, and it shouldn't be.

A coffee for $3.50: Argentina is the most expensive country in Latin America

5 times more expensive than in Spain, that is just horrible. Here in the northern part of Villa Urquiza, I haven't seen too many places closing yet, but you can tell they are hurting. I personally no longer visit places where I used to spend money on a very regular basis. I recently stopped...

Milei’s quest to defuse Argentina’s currency control bomb

A good observation, but it would still affect Argentina, right? And Brazil, which might lead to another devaluation of the real, thus putting even more pressure on the Argentine peso.

As amusing as that would be, it seems highly unlikely.

A river near Buenos Aires turns red, sparking fears of toxic leak

That's the current theory, but no lab results have yet been made public. But more important than that, the Sarandi flows into the Rio de la Plata, and that's where CABA gets its water, for drinking and everything else. I don't think that being casually dismissive of this is really a good idea.

A river near Buenos Aires turns red, sparking fears of toxic leak

This is the sort of thing that a responsible government would crack down on very, very hard. But since this is Argentina, we get this - "Residents report that the stream has exhibited various unusual colors in the past — gray, green, violet, blue and brown — often with an oily surface. They say...

Argentina says it will pull out of World Health Organization

True, and Argentina won't be missed, but the USA usually supplies the lion's share of the funding for any international organization to which it belongs. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of the WHO, mostly because of their (in my opinion) highly questionable role in the response to the corona...
