Bought a bag of Don Satur crackers

"Bizcochitos de grasa" are also made fresh in most bakeries. Have been the preferred snack to accompany "mate" sessions since forever. Even the snobbiest local foodies love them. Also served with the best imported Scotch....!

    Is inflation killing tourism?

My Colonia neighbors have stopped coming. Before the dollar devaluation, they were coming in droves to shop, travel, go to the theatre, and dine in style. Some came twice a month.

Liability Insurance Options for U.S. Car Rental

State-mandated liability insurance is included in rentals. In VA it was just US$100,000, enough to cover a fender-bender but little else. Last year I rented a car from SIXT, which included US$ one milliion in liability insurance. This company was then a newcomer to the Washington area, and...

Filters Or Delivery For Drinking/cooking Water?

Thanks, Roxana. I have a Humma pitcher, but there must have been something wrong with the filter because the water came out tasting strange. Tried it with a Britta filter, which fits in the pitcher, and now it is fine.

    Looking for Kero syrup

Trying to make a Southern Pecan pie and need Kero, or a substitute. Does anyone know where to find either? Actually, I'd really like to get Vermont Maple syrup, but have found only a watery Canadian one here. Spent $17,000 pesos, and it was a miserable disappointment. So I'll settle for Kero...

Pet Adoption Shelters - Wanting to adopt a cat

Check with your neighborhood vet store- they often have whole litters of kittens for adoption. Parke Centenario on weekends is also a good bet, but it is harder to know where those kittens come from, and whether they are healthy.

Looking for a cheap place to write for 6 months - 1 year

In Buenos Aires, four hundred dollars a month is under the Gov. current poverty line. But US$1,500 a month is enough for a good life, even eating out a few times a week. I agree with a previous poster about Chile, if you want to be near a beach. Best of luck...
