Contrasting North and South American Christmas Celebrations

It’s the evening of the 24th as opposed to the morning, right? Came back to the UK briefly for Xmas and missing the warmth of BA!

    Lord, what a storm!

The A/C was just weird to actually get working. Did manage to get it working in the end. Not been in my apartment for the last couple days, hope it weathered the storm ok! I’ve heard a lot of power cuts and uprooted trees in the west. Anybody know how CABA held up? I’m in south BA and it was a...

I think you missed the point. Hersheys is a quilombo and I don’t consider it chocolate

Austerity shock: caution at the labor confederation, panic among state workers

The fury when you compare to Norway’s sovereign wealth fund. Imagine what could’ve been achieved instead. But in any case, I don’t want to evolve this thread into Thatcher bashing. I’ll end it on saying I can’t wait for the tories to be thrown out when we’re fortunate enough to have an election

Austerity shock: caution at the labor confederation, panic among state workers

Likewise. I didn’t live through her term but instead have the misfortune of living through the consequences. I often watch OFAH and ah to have a council flat in Peckham, you’d not have to worry about wishing to be a millionaire

    Blue dollar blues.....

I feel the vibes of San Telmo are getting rougher however nothing on London. I’ve got my sights set on Lanús. Spent the last couple of days there and preferred it substantially although the beer in San Telmo is better - Santo Remedio especially where I’m currently enjoying a lovely Strange beer

    Blue dollar blues.....

My partner is Argentinian, I get by very well here and hugely better than in London. Losing half of my purchasing power would bite but wouldn’t avert me from being here by any means. The main thing though is that when I return I may seek to stay here long term so I hope that this won’t bite me...

    Blue dollar blues.....

Hoping there’s a missing /s haha. In any case it’ll be cheaper than London and this time round I’m going to give it a go living outside of CABA. I’ve got a bit bored of San Telmo and want to try south of CABA

Austerity shock: caution at the labor confederation, panic among state workers

True colours of a government only materialise when they’re in power and have a few years away from accountability. Manifestos and political soundbites mean nothing once you’ve been handed the keys of power. It’s the sad reality of 4-5 year terms of rolling democracy. Still, it’s probably better...

    Blue dollar blues.....

I’m heading back to Europe next week and returning here in January. Should I be worried?

    Blue dollar blues.....

WU rate seems roughly the same as when I withdrew about a week ago. Haven’t seen any noticeable price rises other than at the petrol pumps. Am I missing something?

You’d have to pay me substantially more than that to even consume Hersheys

I haven’t had any problems here. As much as I speak anecdotally, you do too. What happened to you to form this opinion?
