    Western Union money transfer

WU rate unchanged since Friday (although another Federal holiday in U.S. yesterday so all financial activity at a standstill). I'll check the rate after about 17:00 today to see if it changed.

I don't know where you buy your tuna at but the standard size can is nowhere near 3,000 pesos.

The Central Bank approved 10k and 20k peso bills

My comment was directed at the printing of larger bills as a tacit surrender to inflation, as in Venezuela. Other than that and a common language, the 2 are vastly different counties. Seems lots of Venezuelans come to Argentina but few, if any Argentines go there.

    Price of meat will skyrocket

Here's just one example of food prices in Miami-Ft Lauderdale area from Winn-Dixie supermarkets (BOGO means buy 1 get 1 free). The Publix ad pic I took cane out poorly and is hard to read so I'll take another shot. This pic seems cloudy, too.

Best country to move to when life in Argentina becomes intolerable

500 pesos is 50 cents (in US dollars). While you and I may be fortunate enough not to worry about chump change like that, at a casino that's a lot of money for each roll of a slot machine (even in Las Vegas). Every other post bemoans the affordability of things here. When a bus fare/train trip...

Best country to move to when life in Argentina becomes intolerable

As much as we complain just got back from Hipodrome in Palermo (casino and race track). It was PACKED. And many of those there were betting 125, 250 and 500 pesos each bet.

    Price of meat will skyrocket

While meat is a lot more expensive here, carnicerias I walk by are crowded (with lines outside on Saturday) and look well stocked. Further, my Argentine friends mostly all use Netflix, have costly cellphone plans and line up at cuevos. Lastly, next time I check prices out in Miami-Ft...

Is the expat party coming to an end?

My Nampe inflation index is still the same as months ago: $1350 or about $1,35 a bottle. Try looking for either an online Publix or Winn-Dixie ad in the Miami area. As I mentioned in another post on this site, with rare exception food prices there will curl your hair.

Best country to move to when life in Argentina becomes intolerable

While the grass may look greener on the other side, these days it really isn't.
