    Western Union money transfer

Does anyone know what the 'normal' maximum limit for cash withdrawals at WU agents (before the quarantine), as I'm running a bit low on dollars and I'd like to get some cash when the quarantine ends? The WU website for my country is allowing up to ~5000USD, but I suspect most if not all places...

Could you provide contact details for your escribano as I'm currently also looking to buy a property here? Thanks!

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Thank you so much for the advice! The fees seem fairly reasonable. Yes I speak pretty decent Spanish so hopefully I'll be able to navigate the process. I've been looking for 'reputable' escribanos online but I reckon it'll take a visit to their office to actually get a feel of whether they're...

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Sounds like a drug deal haha, i'd definitely be taking a selfie with the cash if I end up doing that! TBH this sounds like a better option than going through a cueva, as I'm assuming there were no exchange rates involved? So you just transferred USD to their account and they gave you USD cash...

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Huh, so I assume you transfer USD to their US/EU account and they give you USD cash here in person? Could you give a rough estimate of how much they charged in fees so I know if I'm getting ripped off? Thanks!

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Thanks for the advice about the escribano! I'd heard about them before but I had no idea they could help with transferring money in from overseas. You said you transferred some money in December - did you do this via a cueva or do you know if there's a way where you end up getting USD cash in...

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Hmmm... interesting. Just FYI i'm not from the US but I think my bank (citibank) routes all international transfers through US citibank anyway. I'll ask them as well as banco ciudad about the limits, although I'm pretty sure I won't get a definite answer lol.

Transferring money into Argentina to buy a flat

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing fine in this relatively tough time. So essentially I'm in the process of buying a flat in BA, and I'm having a bit of trouble understanding how the money is actually transferred to the owner. Some of the estate agents (and friends) have told me that many...

    Buying Real Estate in BA

Hi, a bit late to the party here but I'd just like to know if anyone here who has bought a property can share how much you managed to negotiate off the listed price? I'd be hoping for a minimum of 5-10%, anything more would be great news though. My budget would be around 200-300k USD for a 2/3...

    Rentista Visa

Hi, thanks to everyone on this forum for the useful advice! Just a quick question here - has anyone managed to get a rentista visa using rental income from a property in Argentina? This seems to be a relatively easier option that getting foreign documents translated/apostilled, and should be...
