Milei wielding chainsaw taps into Argentine voter fury

He is taking advantage of the disenchantment with government, Obama did it, Macri did it, and many others as well, who all turned out to be disasters. Milei will be no exception. His excuse will be, that they didn't let me do anything. However, shouldn't have he known that from the start...

Could Milei win in the first round?

The 500,000 audience and votes means nothing. We don't know who watched, who didn't it seems that those mostly interested in Milei watched. I don't know at how you can arrive at any scientific conclusion from this. I still say Milei loses badly. I think people are being fooled here. Time will tell.

Could Milei win in the first round?

BIG IF, He won't be controlling congress, or the gremios, or the sindicatos. They will chew him up, and spit him out.

    Argentina isn't the cheapest

It's wishful thinking because, Milei, Should he be elected, he won't be a tsar. He's unlikely to have the support necessary to be able to accomplish it. At a time when the dollar is losing value world wide, I don't think it is in the best interest of Argentina to dollarize. I don't think...

Pros and cons of getting married/having kids in Argentina vs USA?

USA does not seem like a good choice to move to now-a-days. It has gone down hill significantly. The key to Argentina, is being able to earn in dollars, That usually means having a job abroad that you can perform online.

Could Milei win in the first round?

Ballotage? hmmm, maybe, he will likely lose it, should it come to that.

Could Milei win in the first round?

I am not certain Milei will pull this off. My gut tells me he can't. He barely edged out a win in 'las paso' and only 63% voted. I am more inclined to think that the "no shows" will NOT vote for him. I am thinking Massa pulls this thing out in October.

Teaching in 2024. I am currently in Buenas Aires and interested to move here in February 2024, from Queensland, Australia. Advice?

Argentina will be more enjoyable if you can earn in dollars. More than likely, in order for that to occur, you'll have to work for a foreign company, but it's doable. Plenty of people do it. My suggestion would be, not look for a job here from a company that will employ you. The pay will likely...

Canadian tourist drowns in Iguazú Falls

Hard to say, I went to Iguazu, and walked all 5 paths, and, I don't recall, it being that easy to fall anywhere.

Argentine Airlines flight from Spain to BA hit severe turbulence.

I do have to admit, I have taken my chances when flying, at times, I did not have my seatbelt on when seated. After hearing about this story, that will change now, even on my flights to San Pablo or Iguazu....

40 people arrested after a raid on a crypto mining farm

Well, they were stealing electricity for starters, that was a big mistake that led to their downfall. It's hard to tell from the article how large the operation was, but it appears to be significant in size. September 21st of this year, Ethereum switched from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of...

If I use someone else's DNI for online purchases, will they be responsible for paying for it in their income tax?

If anything, you would only have to pay a fine. you can always apply for an extension to your visa. Also, applying for residency here is not difficult either.

If I use someone else's DNI for online purchases, will they be responsible for paying for it in their income tax?

Hi, from what I understand, NO. Those records are not looked at. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of electronics, always having to show my DNI, and I have never heard a thing from the AFIP, I am registered with them. I am a monotributista here. I have never heard any issue with this from...

Legality of repeated Western Union cash pickups?

The price you pay to obtain USDT or USDC or whatever crypto currency you decide on buying depends on where and how you buy. Presumably, if you are buying in the U.S the fee is either 0% or 1%. I don't know what the prices are in Europe exactly to obtain crypto. I believe it's significantly more...

Is airbnb like the only way to get a rental now?

Depends on what you are looking for, there is soloduenios (sorry I don't have the enie on my American keyboard) or zonaprop, and there are others as well. Another interesting one is couchsurfing app. You can find a place to stay for free, but you have to have a reputation. Generally the way it...
