Rental Law Will be Repealed Tomorrow, by Decree

Here? Honestly, I haven't kept up with exactly what Milei has or hasn't done. I would like to, but I've been busy. I know there have been a bunch of changes, I see prices going up. It's what @mikic007 was concerned about in a previous post, laws protecting tenants

    Issues with Coto shopping

As far as your gym bag, yes, that is perfectly normal, for them to ask. When I go to COTO, I always have a backpack with me, more often than not, they ask me to open it. I have no problems with that.

    Milei's in charge !!!…Wow !!!

I think it's too early to determine how this will all work out. Foreign investment probably won't arrive until after we see major changes. I appreciate the legalization of 'cuevas' and trading in 'divisas', including cryptocurrencies. I fully support that. However, many goods and services will...

Inflation woes: A can of tuna now costs 4500

I invited a friend from Spain to a cafe in my neighborhood yesterday. She ordered a cinnamon roll and a 'cafe con leche.' I ordered a cappuccino and a cookie. The bill came to 7,500 ARS, which is about 7.50 USD. My mother says that in Boca Raton, it would have cost double, so it's still...

The flavonoids in cheap wine usually cause a headache for me, sometimes even if I consume only one glass. I am sensitive like that for some reason.

    Been here a month Now

I have a friend that rented an over 500 sq meter place in San Telmo for $1200 a month, fully furnished by the way, but the deal was closed in August of this year. I don't have any idea how much the rents have increased since then

    Been here a month Now

$1,500 a month? It must be close to 400 square meters. Okay, if you need something that large, I highly recommend not paying that far in advance just to save one month's rent for the year. It could cause you a lot of headaches in the near future. Some landlords here are slumlords. Be wary.

    Blue dollar blues.....

As the year draws to a close, there's an increased demand for pesos due to the payment of various bills, coinciding with heightened tourism. This places considerable strain on the dollar. Compared to last year, people seem to have less disposable income for purchasing dollars, which aligns with...

If the economy gets real bad will people turn on expats ?

I am not sure about the rent increase part. My landlord knows I am an expat, and she prefers to have someone that will pay the rent on time, and will take care of the property. My increases have been the normal, in accordance to the inflation that we have been experiencing, and that is the...

If the economy gets real bad will people turn on expats ?

I've heard discussions among my friends about foreigners who come to Argentina and decide to stay. There seems to be a general concern among them, mainly due to the perception that they might increase the demand on local resources. However, I haven't witnessed any hostility, just worries. I...

How Javier Milei Could Change Argentina

I don't support any particular political faction, but it's remarkable how many of you don't see that all factions are corrupt and contribute to the problem. Instead, you insist on blaming one party or another. I find this mindset laughable. Until there's a change in this way of thinking, no real...
