Argentine Experience As Expat In Ireland

My other expat experience with in Galway, Ireland. I loved it, though I think it rained almost every day. Here in Bahia Blanca its so dry my skin cracks! I've spent a lot of time in Dublin, last time I was there was 2010 and I saw the change from when I lived there (2000, the height of the...

    Bahia Blanca

We had a hard time finding furnished apartments, but that might have just been our relo company LARM. We had two to choose from and our current apartment is pretty bad (problems with wiring telephone and electric, leaks etc. and the place was build in 95). When they say furnished it can really...

    Bahia Blanca

Ice cream is the best I have ever had - better than Italy! And they can do pastas really well too.

    Bahia Blanca

this might sound weird but my favorite thing about Bahia Blanca (and lots of places in rural Argentina) are the horses on 'leashes' tied up on the sides of the highways eating grass. And I like the wild dogs, they are always really sweet here.

    Bahia Blanca

I hate to sound so negative, but I was just thinking about it a bit more. Every expat I know here is just waiting to get out of here and on to somewhere else. No one has fallen in love with the place, even those that have been here for more than a year and speak the language fluently. I guess...

    Bahia Blanca

Happy to help! I don't have kids, but there are a few other expat families here that do. They are concerned about the schools in general from what I understand (kids only go to school for about a half day and the ones I know go to a Spanish language school). I don't know much about private or...

    Bahia Blanca

Living here in Bahia Blanca (but on the way out and back to the States in 3 weeks) I can give you a little info but not everything you are asking. You can work legally in Argentina if you have the spouse visa and your husband has the working visa through his company. My husband has the ability...

    Lost My Dni

Didn't need my DNI when I re-entered last week from Brazil. They looked at my US passport with my residency visa and that's it. I've only been asked for it once and that was coming from Uruguay.

    Applying For Argentine Dni

Can't really be of too much help, but my lawyer did say it makes it a lot harder if you have a criminal record at all. But it literally changes every month, so I strongly recommend you talk to an immigration lawyer (here in Buenos Aires) about the current climate to get a good opinion.

Has Anyone Tried To Get A Tourist Visa To Brazil Recently?

Any update on this Rachael? I'm experiencing the same problem with the website, it just doesn't seem to be working. My secretary is calling them but they are not answering, so we have sent an email.

Getting Brazil Visa At Consulate Other Than Buenos Aires

Hi, Just thought I'd ask around before I starting digging into it. Has anyone applied for a Brazilian tourist visa from a consulate other than Buenos Aires? I'm in Bahia Blanca and would like to apply at the consulate here, but they don't have a website or any information about this on the...

    Would You?

Maybe try somewhere else in the US, there are a lot of places to experience an urban life. Having been to a lot of suburban places in Texas I wouldn't want to live there (and driving there isn't fun either as you mention your long commute), but I miss Philadelphia (I live in the city, walk or...

    My Half Hour Residency Trip

That hasn't worked for getting my husband his visa (I have a work visa through my work, he should get a visa as being my spouse without problems). I had the apostilled marriage license but they didn't like it, so I had to get a court order in the US and have that apostilled. I also had to get...

Why Does Everyone Here Seem To Hate Buenos Aires So Much?

Please make it a pizza thread, I'm dying for some NY style, like what you get in Naples not the crap you get in Rome, thin crust without a monton of cheese - where the crust, sauce, and cheese all come together into a magical new deliciousness. I don't live in BsAs but next time I'm there I'll...

Intelligent Or Stupid To Move To Ba Now?

Getting a visa from India to Argentina might be really hard - I know for Brazil it took like 7 months or more for Indians to get in there even to start. Don't underestimate the visa process, I had a lawyer and supposed help from two relocation companies but they were pretty useless with my home...

Dni Help, (I Apologize In Advance If This Is Redundant)

FBI did standard ink form for my husband when he did it. We needed the local police records apostilled too, which was a bit of a headache. They aren't issues by a judge of the state, so they cannot be apostilled. What you had to do is get them notarized and then get the notary stamp...

Intelligent Or Stupid To Move To Ba Now?

Make sure they cover all your visa fees, including any documentation from your home country that needs translated or apostilled. My translations alone cost $900 in the US (Philadelphia, and I got a few quotes). My company said it would cover just the fee to the government, but not all the extra...

Intelligent Or Stupid To Move To Ba Now?

I'm on a one year assignment (in another city in Argentina, not BsAs) and I can tell you what I have in my contract. I get paid as much or as little of my salary as I want into an Argentine bank account (pesos). This is a requirement of my work visa, to get paid in ARP into a Argentine...

Dni Help, (I Apologize In Advance If This Is Redundant)

I have my appointment next Tuesday so I can give you more first hand knowledge after that. I had my work visa before I left the US, so they took everything there needed for the DNI and wrote it all up for my application. But I needed a local police background check (if you mean Pennsylvania as...

    Santiago And Lima - Recommendations?

Thanks everyone! I know its a short time, but we had the layovers anyway and getting a day to see each place and break up our trip was all we had the money/time for (we will be on our way back from Mexico). I had read about a culinary tour in Lima that sounded pretty good. And I was thinking...
