    San Telmo Fair Easter Sunday?

I asked my friend at the cigar shop on Defensa about the same thing yesterday and he said it would be fully up and running. Feria de Mataderos has special guest musicians so my guess is that all ferias will be full on this weekend.

    Byob On A Cruise Ship???

Some of those ships are quite strict about bringing booze on board as it is one of their principal ways of generating a profit! I would suggest reading up on the line's policies

    Phuket

Salguero 1440 (corner of Honduras is close by) Food...a bit of everything which matches their sort of eclectic, random collection ambiance. Funky ways to serve food (sauces in thimbles, side items in odd random jars). It's a fun place to eat.

    Phuket

Grrr! I lived 3 blocks away from this place for 2 years and never went for some odd reason. It's on my list to go to, thank you. Enfunda la Mandolina is nearby and is quite good too.

    Train To Mendoza?

There used to be a trains to Mendoza 20+ years ago roughly. Absolutely stellar scenery too, tunnels, you can still see the tracks running along side parts of the highway leading to Mendoza. I would seriously pay good money to ride that train if it was still running. But alas, governments of the...

    Water Filters

I have a Brita filter too, screws onto the faucet. I had to go around to about 6 different plumbing stores in search of a new faucet, returned a few and finally had a plumber force it on to get a new fixture because our original was from the times of the Argentine revolution with no threads...

    Wedding Photographer

Jocelyn is a close friend of mine so I am obviously biased, but she does weddings regularly as well as a lot of commercial photography and design. She used to be in the international fashion circuit: http://jocelynmandryk.prosite.com/

    Reintroducing Myself

Totally agree with PhilipDT. That is a massive shortcut that could save you literally hundreds of hours of networking and building relationships over months/years. From my experience Buenos Aires is very much "a who you know" city when it comes to business and getting things done.

    Power Shortage Anyone?

We have an interesting power related issue in San Telmo. Our AC got filled with freon a few weeks back and it stopped working again (the machine has air flow, but its not cold). The AC repairman came again and did a bunch of tests and found that the electricity in our apartment only had 190...

    El Superclásico

The Super coming up is a part of a less important summer tournament for Argentina. I would say it is just shy of a friendly match importance wise. The main Superclasicos are usually in the months of May and November during the Apertura (August to December) and Clasura (February to June)...

    Baby Things Cost Vent

I know you dont want to hear this but the U.S. is king pin with baby clothes/toys/stuff prices. The good news is that baby loot takes up so little space you can likely ask a favor of a friend of a friend and not feel too guilty about it. On the other hand I justified a trip back to the US just...
