    tipping protocol

To be fair to Sergio he has a point re some individuals using tipping as a (subconscious) means of subjugating or patronising locals..kinda saying "I´m an asshole but at least I´m a rich one" or "poor you..let me salve my conscience by giving you way more than would be expected for bringing a...

suggestions for midweek excursions from BsAs?

Another easy and enjoyable day trip is to the Temaiken zoo, near Escobar. It is a very nice place - clean, well managed and the animals seem well looked after. (Dare I say it, it doesn't seem Argentine at all...!) You can get a bus from Plaza Italia that drops you directly at Temaiken. On a...

    Argentina Crime a reality check

At the risk of being patronising I think it is pretty obvious that our demographics will also affect our perceptions..who hasn´t been young and reskless, living life to the full and feeling immortal, imagining they have full control of every situation and that they could never be a victim of...

    Rip-off painters!

In defense of Argetine painters I have been seriously screwed by Irish workmen who never showed up or who botched the job so the fact I´ve had the same painting and decorating company at both home and the office for the last 4 years is for me a success. They just repainted the entire 4 storey...

    Restaurant with a view

mmm, i wouldn't call it a great view exactly, but Paladar in Villa Crespo has a nice window overlooking Camargo and even finds its way over the facing buildings. More importantly, Ivana and Pablo's "restaurant at home" offers the best dining experience in BA. P.S. Don't tell anyone...

Kirchner Rescued Argentinas Economy and help unite South America

...still, looking at some of the presidential hopefuls we find a former power boat captain (losing an arm in the process...), a racing car driver (known for being second...), a film director (of largely unknown works), a previously failed president (serving less than a year and a half...). At...

Kirchner Rescued Argentinas Economy and help unite South America

The death of a son, brother, father, and husband is a sad occasion, and the only human reaction is to pass condolences and wishes of strength to the people in Nestor Kirchner’s immediate circle and I add my voice in this respect. As for the rush to sanctify him as a great statesman, the...
