Any info on Torres del Paine or Fitz Roy?

I don't think its a dumb idea. It will take 1/2 day each way on the bus from Argentina-Chile and back (the border crossing is slow with a bus full of people). If you are taking a stove/your own food on the trails, I recommend buying some here in Cap. Fed. (like ramen specifically). Are you...

Any info on Torres del Paine or Fitz Roy?

I have done the whole circuit of Torre del Paines (the W plus the back part, 160ish km I think). It was amazing. But expensive. Do you have all your own gear here because it is expensive here and not so great quality vs price? We have been to Fitz Roy twice. It is cheaper, and just as...

    Thanksgiving ingredients

Get zapallo for sure. I believe it is a pumpkin. It even smells like it (is orange inside) and has the same seeds as pumpkin (just less of them). I make zapallo soup all the time.

Trying to make CORNBREAD (need help)

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/homesteader-cornbread/ That's the recipe I use. I put the polenta (cornmeal) in the milk and soak it for an hour. Everything else is the same (with the above mentioned royal brand of baking powder). Last time I put in some jalapenos I bought at Carrefour and it...

Young & well to do. Should I move to BA?

Very true, it took me 18 months to even want to go back to the States to visit I was so in love. Now after 6 years, meh. Anyway, my dream life would be 6 months of the year in Patagonia and 6 in the States (Oregon or Montana).

I would wait until Feb though because Jan is hotter than hell and very humid.

    LSAT books?

You can order books from Amazon.com and they will make it to your door BUT you shouldn't order more than like 3-4 at a time and you have to pay for the most expensive fastest shipping or you won't see if for months. If you do order it through them, you should have them in 10-15 days.

Young & well to do. Should I move to BA?

I love it here for the most part but I will say this: Living here is not for the weak.

Young & well to do. Should I move to BA?

No it isn't cheap anymore. I was just in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas and both restaurant meals and groceries were cheaper. (30% inflation here) And forget buying consumer goods like electronics, its almost nearly double all the time. (50% import tax)

Godiva, Ritter Sport and other chocolates

Lindt is the best I've seen and it is available at Disco, Carrefour, and Jumbo most of the time (depending on the store and the day but usually). The chocolate at Volta (the ice cream shop) is pretty good. (And they deliver!) http://unaltravolta.com.ar/

    Italian Food

Guido's is my favorite too. Pricey but damn good. La Parolaccia (there are many around), Sotto Voce (2 that I know of), and La Stampa in La Recova (right below the 4 Seasons) are both consistently good. All are pricey too.

    No imported foods anymore????

I have learned in my 6 years here if you see something you really like, stock up while it's available. Also, its amazing how much I have learned here. I just had a thought that ancho powder (a type of chili powder is dried jalapenos ground up). One could dry jalapenos and whatever other...
