Too Many Pizzerias And Carbs In Bsas Stop This Now

I don't know if this was directed at me, because I took offense at Polostar's use of "fat and smelling awful" to describe the girl he met in the elevator, but I know that gordo/gorda are terms of endearment here and I am totally fine with that. (And I really like what you say about people being...

Too Many Pizzerias And Carbs In Bsas Stop This Now

Agreed. A vegan diet, done correctly is fine for children. The cases of neurological development problems have come from families where vegan has meant a diet lacking in everything, basically. I know paleo is big in BsAs right now, and in other places as well, both personally I have never felt...

Any Nice Hotels With Pool Area/bar/roof?

I agree with Nancy, the parks are great! Not sure why you think they are so dirty? Bring a beach towel, blanket or plastic chair and tan away! Also, a great place to have a drink in the sun is the Hyatt - Duhau Palace on Avenida Alvear. It is wonderful to sit in the courtyard/terrace and have...

Too Many Pizzerias And Carbs In Bsas Stop This Now

polostar, I am sorry but this sounds really bad. If it is was a man, would you have pointed it out, or if she wasn't fat? I do not know what the weight statistics are here but I am amazed at how many men from 30-40 and up have HUGE guts, but until now I have not felt a need to come to the forum...

Any Nice Hotels With Pool Area/bar/roof?

If you are big into swimming it might be worth it to join a club such as Club de Amigos. From what I see on this webpage of theirs it is 2700 pesos to be a member of the club, plus 3600 for pool membership. A lot of money but maybe worth it if you go a lot from now until the end of March.

    New Years Eve In Argentina

Amen! Totally agree! I think it is great that people enjoy coming together with friends and family, and am delighted to bring something or chip in. Sometimes when I invite I take care of it all, but not always, and I feel people always want to bring something. And I actually like being told what...

Tourist Visa Controls - 12 Colombians Deported At Eze

Gee, thanks Dad. Patronizing much? Thank you for opening our eyes - I wouldn't have thought to consider these factors if you hadn't pointed them out. [/irony]

Any Good Orthopedist Or Generalist (Doctor)

Exact same diagnosis and suggested treatment, so I think they know what they are doing. In general it seems to me that doctors here are a little less "feel good" than in for instance the US. Hope others have suggestions!

Any Good Orthopedist Or Generalist (Doctor)

Hi PoloStar, I posted this on another thread on the topic. As I mention below, both were very quick, in retrospect maybe I liked Dr. Mereles more, he took a little more time. Both seemed good though. You can also google "mejor traumatologo de columna buenos aires" and see what comes up, there...

What Brought You To Buenos Aires?

I make lots of sweeping generalizations myself, so no complaining here, but that is a pretty broad and funny one... The northern hemisphere includes most of the land and thus most of the people in the world. As a Norwegian (as northern as it gets almost) I see myself and my countrywomen as...

    Housing In Buenos Aires?

Hi Leena, for shared housing, I would try Couchsurfing, the Buenos Aires forum has a sub-group for housing and it is quite active for people who are looking for shared houses. CompartoDepto is another site you should try, and also Craigslist. The large real estate agencies have temporary rentals...

What To Wear Day To Day!!

Haha, I agree, the platform shoes here I personally find horrible. Yes, the person gets to be taller but it just looks weird to me. Of course everyone can wear whatever they wear but the calzas with the platform shoes is not a look I like. I wear lots of shorts, dresses and skirts in the summer...

Latin America Rates High In Violent Cities

Thanks Ed for these links. I did know there had been a lot of internal migration and emigration for years but I guess I always heard a more general "it's because of the violence", I didn't know about the land consolidation policies.

Lebanese Woman Looking For Expat/locals To Enjoy Baires

Latin America Rates High In Violent Cities

This is all very interesting, when I first came to Argentina I was surprised that there were so many Colombians, I didn't know that beforehand. I knew that there were many Colombians in the US and in Europe but hadn't realized there were many here as well. Many definitely seem to come for the...

Latin America Rates High In Violent Cities

The article is sort of a sad competition between Brazil, Colombia, South Africa and Mexico - with Honduras coming in and sweeping the "victory." :( I was actually surprised to see so many Colombian cities on the list, I really thought it had gotten much better over the last five years or more...

Achieving Fluency In Castellano (Esp. Comprehension)

"Perfectly functional" is a great expression, I will start using that! A good thing about being from Scandinavia and not from an English speaking country is that it is usually much easier for us to pick up accents and languages, as we are used to hear more languages and we already have...

Summer And Power Outages, how Well Prepared Are We?

Are there any neighborhoods that are particularly bad? I am thinking of moving to Almagro and when I watched Lanata's special on the electricity/infrastructure crisis, one of the areas he visited was Almagro. I guess there is no way to avoid it completely anywhere, but would be good to know if...
