Moving to Argentina from Africa for a better life.

Did they all arrive legally? And are visas given to the citizens of any country in Africa? The writer says he studied electrical engineering. Will he be willing to be a street salesman?

What's the reality of safety in Buenos Aires?

I think neighbourhoods like Recoleta are generally safe. Try to dress like locals. Carry only what you reasonably need and mind your wallet when in crowded places. I do not think Colombia is safer.

What's the best neighborhood for families?

Fewer houses in those areas. You might try Villa Urquiza, Villa del Parque, Villa Pueyrredon, Devoto - more middle class neighborhoods with few, if any, foreigners. Do you need to be close to expats?

    Peronist Hypocrisy in Argentina

Food prices are amongst the highest of the planet

It's a good brand but there are lots of others that cost several times more. I thought Don David 2023 Malbec was very good value for money, especially as it is now under $5,000 a bottle if you buy three at Carefour.

Food prices are amongst the highest of the planet

Is it actually any good? I find these inexpensive wines, even ones for double the price, to be bland. Whites are better at the low end in my opinion. I had Don David Malbec 2023 recently. $7,000 pesos in Disco - very good value for money. It sells for a little over $6,000 in some Asian...
