A Society That Doesn't Want Sacrifices?

Argentines have made a lot of sacrifices. Unwillingly, and unknowingly perhaps, but they do put up with a lot that would be unacceptable in other parts of the world. As do the rest of us that live here. :P Once an individual (or a society) learns the way of cutting-corners, cheating, and...

Met An Argentine Girl In The States, Need Some Perspective..

"But the fact that she said lets continue the conv tomorrow but didn't hit me up, the fact that 5 months passed" 5 months? She's just not into you. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ghosting Most people aren't into the long distance relationships, especially if it wasn't stable...

    Still Impossible To Source Stuff

And by "never picked up from aduana" they probably mean "notice never delivered to recipient and parcel thrown in a dark container for 4 months..... oh, and we're only the selling the garbage we haven't taken for ourselves." Been over 3 months now and I have yet to get a package from a friend...

Question On Cables Draped Off Your Roof And City Ordinances

 I guess I've been here too long too because my first reaction was also "just get rid of it." As long as it's not a power cable. ;) When/if questioned, just play dumb...

    Traffic Anomalies

The flashing hazard lights while trying to park or in rain doesn't bother me. At least that's trying to show some warning and courtesy, which is more than you usually get. :) I do agree those ultra-bright flashing lights on emergency vehicles being a nuisance and dangerous. Those new LED...

U.s. Citizen Apprehended For Crimes Committed In Ba

Crazy. I remember the Big Apple posts... never went to the place or met him, but this is shocking. For those who don't read Spanish.... apparently the crimes which he is being arrested and extradited for were committed in the US and was sentenced to 9 years in 2001. In 2006 he was released...

Good News For Anyone Receiving International Packages!

In a show of hopeful optimism over the new president and the supposed return of door-to-door delivery, I allowed a friend at their insistence to send me a small package. It was sent 50 days ago and no word at all yet. From what I've heard, the post office has been flooded with international...

    Atlanta

I would suggest visiting the Coca-Cola museum some other time... it's underwhelming, especially for a short trip where you'll only stay a few hours. Then again maybe my expectations were too high. The aquarium is great, though. And as others have said, don't underestimate Atlanta traffic. :)

    Yet Another Break In

Wow, how scary. :( You're a brave and somewhat foolish man... should have waited for the cops. Glad they were scared off, though. Did your neighbor lose many valuables or suffer a lot of damages? I'm glad you made it to your birthday. Imagine what the newspaper headlines would have been...

Sending A Package From Uk To Buenos Aires Advice?

Despite my warnings, a friend sent me a couple packages, small and not expensive, from the US on April 18th. I'm still waiting... :( I hope they get here. I don't even mind going to wait in line for hours. Supposedly door-to-door service has resumed, but that's yet to be proven to me...

    Got Nailed In Eze Customs

I've never heard of making a record of something brought in and then customs checking to see if you're taking it with you when you leave. At what point would they check? Usually if you have to pay a tax, you pay it in the moment of entry. Once it's here, I doubt they're going to look for it...

No More Reciprocity Fee For Us Passport Holders

Nice... good news. Hopefully the US will allow Argentina back into the visa waiver program as well. Are most Americans living here enrolled in STEP? I am not.

    Can Dogs Eat Morcilla?

They can eat it, but I wouldn't give them too much. Mix it with other food. Depends on the variety as well - nothing spicy is good for them and onions (which are often used) are toxic. Not a fan of most of the morcilla here... it's very soft. I prefer the firmer kind that you find in Spain.

The Spanish Word "ya" In The Southern Cone.

I use "ya" in the affirmative in Spanish and my Spanish family do as well, but not sure if just rubbed off on them from me or the other way around. :P I just asked my husband and he says here in Argentina they don't use it, but seems to recall that in Spain yes. I've always used it as a...

Argentine-Born Us Citizen W/ Us Passport To Travel: 90 Days?

Probably easiest to just use the local passport, always. Use the US passport to leave the US, use the Argentine passport to enter Argentina. Your wife is an Argentine citizen so she can stay as long as she pleases, especially since she has a valid document.
