    Holiday Dates in Argentina

FWIW, I've been using the Ministerio de Interior website for years (to manage holidays for our employee), and it has always been up to date; even updated quickly after new holidays are announced.

    Good Chinese Restaurants

I second Royal China... Their food is good and their chef is from Hong Kong. From time to time they do Groupons for lunch and dinners. The lunch ones are good, and priced at $71 pesos (reg. $238) for 2 persons that include 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, desert and drink. They don't deliver tho.

    HELP- Podiatrist (foot doctor) recommendations

What you probably want is an "Ortopeda" that will know what to do with foot injuries, and not a Podiatrist. My partner went to Dr. Sperone for an injury (http://www.citot.com.ar/equipo.html) and he was good, but speaks no English.

How to open a bank account

True. In the case of my friend, the bills were not on his name. It was just a formality, and they only wanted something with the address on it. But your mileage may vary.

How to open a bank account

Residency or DNI is not required by all banks. You just have to find a bank willing to work with you. I helped a friend in November get an account at Banco Frances. As a non-resident foreigner, the will likely ask you for your passport, a CDI number (tax payer ID), which you can obtain at...

Have you tried Skype? If you have a computer and internet at home you can install it for free and make free calls and video calls. If she does not have access to a computer, you can also buy a phone number from any of several european countries and she can then call you at that number and it...

    Personal vs Claro.

@katti; that could very well be the issue. I remember getting 3g service here when it was the "new" thing, and there were barely any 3g handsets offered here. The service was faster than what I'd experienced in the USA. But as time went by, it seems the networks are now overflowed with...

    Personal vs Claro.

I've noticed over the last year the 3g and cell service from Claro has gotten bad for me. Sometimes I don't get service while in the city and have had to reboot my F.U. iPhone to get it to register, but even then it may not work. I think it used to be better before, but this is just anecdotal...
