    Female Gynecologist

    I went to Dra. Rossi today for a colposcopy, and she did a pap, too. She's wonderful. We spoke only in Spanish, but she made sure to thoroughly explain everything so I would understand. I didn't feel rushed.. it was a good overall experience. The consult and colposcopy were $100 total, and the...

    San Pedro de Atacama to Salta

    Thanks, I'll contact them. Still looking for some answers if anyone can help: Can I pre-purchase a ticket from San Pedro de Atacama to Buenos Aires and What's the best way to get from Buenos Aires to Potosi? (I think I'll just meet my friend there and then we can go to Uyuni together) Thanks!

    Easter Bunny in BA?????

    I've talked a lot with my students about different Easter traditions this last week, and no, the Easter Bunny does not exist (sadly, in my opinion). The eggs are given to everyone, young and old. There's no special activity just for kids, either. I did teach my students how to dye eggs, though...

    San Pedro de Atacama to Salta

    Hmm.. good to know. I hadn't really looked into how I was going to get to Uyuni. My friend (who I'm meeting there) will be in Potosi first, maybe I'll go there and then we can head to Uyuni together. It seems like a much bigger place, so hopefully there would be a bus that goes directly there...

    San Pedro de Atacama to Salta

    Hi all, I'll be traveling from San Pedro de Atacama, in Chile, to Salta in early/mid May. I've heard that bus tickets can be sold out for weeks in advance (a friend who was there in Feb. told me..). I also feel like I've heard that it's not possible to buy tickets unless you're there in person...

    Any English Bookstore

    I saw an ad in Clarin about a month or two ago that they're now producing the classics in Spanish/English for the sake of learning English, but they could certainly be used the other way around. It was my understanding that they were a collection, i.e., each week or month a new one would come...

    Cake Flour?

    Yeah, I went to Doña Clara today and they wanted TEN PESOS for a cardboard cake box. YIKES. There's a paper supply type store a few blocks from my house and they want $5-ish each. Still, soooo $$$$!! I'm just looking for ways to deliver baked goods. Do you think those packaging stores would have...

    CUIT = wholesale?

    Do you know if they do envios? It's in my barrio, kinda, but not close enough to haul all that stuff home on foot, and I'm not sure about taking a bus with so much... though it could be done. Anyway, envios would be ideal (and make me feel fancy! I haven't gotten groceries delivered yet!).

    Cake Flour?

    I'd use 000 for bread. I haven't seen whole wheat flour but I haven't looked, I'd say the dieteticas (health food stores) should have it, though, in suelto if nothing else (bulk). Dona Clara is a great little baking supplies store in Once, Corrientes 2561 I want to say. Corrientes 25something...

    Crafty People?

    Hi all! Is this still going on? I'd love to get in on it!! I think you already have my email, mini, but I'll send it along anyway. Hope there's another one soon! Are they always in the afternoons?

    CUIT = wholesale?

    thank you all for your help! I think I'll avoid the accounting headache and just head to Vital and go from there. I'll let you know when I've put these ingredients to use and have some tasty treats! Fresh, chewy chocolate chip cookies, anyone? :)

    CUIT = wholesale?

    Thanks, all! Yes, my CUIT is for an English professor, so.. I can see how that might be a problem. Will AFIP come after me, though? Could I just change my categoria and get more facturas? The CUIT number would stay the same, as they didn't ask my profession when they issued it. Hmm.. I'm not...

    CUIT = wholesale?

    Hi all, Just wondering if I would be able to buy things wholesale, or "por mayor" with my CUIT number? Also, I know there is the restaurant supply district, but does anyone know where I can buy edibles in bulk / wholesale (flour, sugar, etc...)? I´m also still on the lookout for cake delivery...

    Greek Gyros Lamb

    Habibi in San Telmo is open again!! (they had a big fire a few months ago). I've had their gyro/schwarma thing.. can't remember what they called it there.. and it's very good. They have a pretty extensive menu, and their hummus is good. It's on Humberto Primo, just a block or two up from Dorrego.

    Ok ladies, I am having trouble packing..

    Bring cute flats! This city is very walkable, but I don't think I've ever worn my heels, save a few times going out. Even then, the nights are loooong and I'm not that badass. I also wish I'd brought more dresses because the summer is HOT. One coat is fine, and yeah, one light jacket. Well...

    Cake Flour?

    Hello! I'm a pastry chef from the States, and yes, at home we do have a ridiculous amount of different flours, but even in the bakeries and cafes I worked in we only ever had pastry flour and bread flour, and combined the two (worked out portions, etc) to come up with cake flour (the in...

    CUIL/CUIT/DNI/VISA etc...

    My tourist visa isn't expired, nor do I plan on letting it expire while I'm here.. I don't want any scars, so to speak, on my record that would give them reason to deny me a student visa. I wouldn't start the program until 2011, so I still have another year+ to go of permatouristing (jaja). But...

    CUIL/CUIT/DNI/VISA etc...

    So, if I do an 18 month program, I'll get my student visa, which is the residencia temporaria? And then when can I apply for the DNI, immediately? And could I eventually apply form permanent residency? I'm currently doing the permatourist thing, but am looking at a grad program that starts in...

    Dentists

    I, too, am looking for a simple cleaning and check-up. My Spanish is pretty good, but I'm not sure about dental jargon... Does Rodenstein Alberto speak any English? I'm also curious to know about general prices. I don't have insurance.
