    Villa Crespo - Safe?

Been living in VC for a year now (Puerto Madero for 2 years before that), very nice and barrio, people very friendly, would highly recommend it. I think my landlord might have a nice one bedroom place to rent out. He is an excellent chap too!

I knew I'd have a problem with motorcycles

Sounds as though the police behaved very reasonably. I also had an accident with a motorbike (I was in a car) and found the police very fair and professional. My situation was a bit more questionable in terms of blame, but we managed to sort things out as luckily the guy was not injured. Speak...

    best OYSTER experience in BA?!

In Palermo, Crizia has an oyster bar and nice small crunchy (if you know what I mean) oysters. I also like Damblee in Almagro, which also has fantastic home made boquerones, chiperones en su tinta, and a real pata negra (5 jotas). As I think you are a friend of my good friend Tez I would be...

    Moving soon to Buenos Aires

I lived in Puerto Madero for a couple of years. It is a bit sterile but in no way awful. It's nice to walk about in, has great open air concerts throughout January, some decent restaurants (Marcelo being my favourite) and most of the apartment blocks have high end facilities, pools, gyms etc. On...

What crimes have you been a victim of in BA?

In 17 years of spending a month or two a year here and the last 3 years of living here permanently I have not experienced any crime. The only crime I have seen is motochurros grabbing the rolexes of obvious tourists (why do they dress in safari suits to come to south america) on florida street...

Top quality american style bacon is always available in BA and can be delivered to your door. It is made by Brit and long term argie resident Heath Baines. It is delicious, doesn't shrink in the pan and crisps up beautifully if required. See link for full review...

    Santiago vs BA

If you don't know yet, it's hardly worth trying to explain. You are not a newcomer. But to give you a clue i had a brilliant night on Saturday watching an excellent blues/ rock band at the Gato Viejo, and went to a top class Flamenco show at Boris club tonight. Both for 40 to 50 pesos. Incredible!!

Try Nac and Pop, the local competitor. Probably half the price. I tried it once when suddenly needing food fast, and it tasted pretty good.

The high price of honesty – US$ for sale?

On top of a capital restructuring that would allow you to bring money in through the Contado con liqui, you might also consider buying the peso forward through official channels. Your IVA should be recoverable as someone has pointed out.

The high price of honesty – US$ for sale?

This is not a legal option for payment of export of services. However it is to bring money in for a restructuring / capital increase.

    What Keeps You In Argentina?

Not too shoddy if you are an Englishman either! I have far more and would say better friends here than I ever had in London. Your mates are much more prepared to put themselves out for you here, probably because life feels less secure and therefore friendship has more value. Even so, my...

    Other Sources for Drinking Water?

The best water here is in the wine, so I only drink that! Mainly Pinot Noir, the un-promoted star of Argentina. And the Patagonian Pinots are great. Something to do with the water? And glass wine bottles can be recycled easily, how many water bottles are? If you can really tell the difference...
