    General Anaesthetic Experience Here?

Nothing wrong with asking for advice or reassurance is there? If she thought that she wouldn't be asking at all! I think she'd just feel more comfortable at home near her family and at the hospital she knows.

    General Anaesthetic Experience Here?

A friend of mine needs to have a minor surgery but it will require general anasthetic. She's nervous about having it done here, as she has low blood pressure, in case anything goes wrong and is wondering whether she should postpone the surgery till she returns to UK. Has anyone had a general...

    Used Furniture? Cheap/cute Kids Furniture?

Not sure if it's the same one, but there is a "fundacion tzedaka" who do auctions (subasta) on mercadolibre. Just login and look up "fundacion tzedaka" and the items will appear. I bought a lovely vintage screen from them a few weeks back.

I find everything on www.mercadolibre.com.ar - the prices are much more competitive than in stores.

Moreno Closes Down 4 Supermarkets Over Supply Breach

My local Carrefour Express recently started putting up a sign on the door at odd times of the day saying they're closed for 20 mins. Two cashiers were fixing it on quite anxiously when I passed by just now. I think it's a ruse when they suspect an inspector's going to turn up...

    Ouch! I Can't Afford It!

I tried refilling the cartridges but they didn't work. It's an old printer bought in 2007 back when things were affordable. I would def go for just black and white if I was buying a new one. Was a shock to see that the colour cartridge I bought off mercadolibre 6 months ago has gone up 50%!

    Slim Fast

They sell sachets of Stop Calory too, so you don't have to invest in a tin in case you don't like it. It's really expensive btw. A drum of Slim Fast is about 25 pesos in UK but Stop Calory is about 90 pesos.

    Why Not To Buy Local!

Well I am not ashamed to admit that my husband and I are trash rummagers. Our kids' favourite toy right now is some gigantic polystyrene blocks that are really protective packaging thrown out by the company across the road. We collect old computer parts from the street too.

    Why Not To Buy Local!

I have to moan about one more example of crap quality here....if you have ever bought honey in a squeezy bottle from the chino, you'll have experienced this. The plastic is such rubbish that by the time you've used only a third of the honey, the damn bottle has split and it all has to be thrown...

    Why Not To Buy Local!

Well where I disagree is that instead of making things accessible to people of all budgets, the economic model here makes everything inaccessible to most people! I've seen several families using seating torn out of the back of old cars cos they can't even afford a sofa!!!! Why should people...

    Why Not To Buy Local!

Re. the Daki stickle-bricks, I bought this once and it wasn't too bad. However it doesn't stick together well and it's impossible for the kids to play with anything they've made, the bits are constantly falling off. The sad truth is we're getting used to the inferior qualitty and starting to...

    Why Not To Buy Local!

It surprises me that it is ffffffiiiiiiivvvvvveeee times the price. Even though I have lived here 6 years. We didn't use to suffer from such hefty import tax. And unfortunately, most stuff made of plastic here breaks immediately. I am happy to buy local stuff but not if I have to bin it a few...

    Why Not To Buy Local!

I know the quality of locally mass-produced toys isn't great, but I balked at the price of the Lego here, 4 or 5 times the normal price, and bought my son the Argentine version (not cheap, cost the same as UK price). I hoped it might last a few months at least, since my childhood Lego has lasted...
