Is it easy to change euros for a good rate in Tucuman? I have some friends travelling there in a few days, should they change all their money downtown now or can it be done there? Thanks!

They definitely do sand-blasting here and you can find it offered on Mercadolibre. I say this as we hire someone off ML to sand-blast down the facade of our house after someone set fire to a mattress and the flames damaged some of the granite.

I think you'd prefer San Telmo/Monserrat/Constitucion as a writer. More interesting and you'll meet people who've lived in their barrio since the 60's. Palermo and Recoleta are very upper middle class / expat / tourist havens. But obviously you need to travel around and find the place you like...

Shocked at the prices of paperbacks here! $165 pesos!! I used to read several books a week in UK but that would be impossible here, it would cost me $2000 a month! And if you calculate it in terms of wages, someone would have to work for 5 or 6 hours to afford a paperback. Disgraceful.
