15% surcharge on foreign transactions on Argentine credit cards starting Sep 1

SO... if I go back home for vacation and DO NOT use my argentine credit/debit cards (as I don't have most of my salary here anyway, I would rely on money I have in my home country bank account), would that make AFIP flag me for having money in other country?

    Series

Try these: Graduados (Argentina) Bety la fea (Colombia) Los exitosos Pérez (Mexico) (I think there's an argy version prior to this one). Those are all sitcoms. There are some really great shows but more dramatic. Produced by HBO and Fox or some other network: Capadocia Epitafios And don't...

    Spanish-American Newcomer's Observations

I lived for 25 years in Mexico (17 of which in Mexico City) and nothing ever happened to me or my family. I've been here for 8 months and I've already been robbed once and heard horror stories from people I know. I certainly do not feel as safe here, but c'mon, it's a big city and big cities...

How do you get dollars in BA?

With the pesification of the real estate people no longer want to sell. There are a lot more apartments for rent than there were 9 months ago, and they have cheaper prices now (and many of them asking for pesos).

    Store closings?

Also, I've seen a couple of stores in Santa Fe close down. It's sad, I don't know if it is just because of the imports or maybe inflation is cooling the market.

    CFK PISS-ify her own account!

If she does, we won't know about it until 2013 when they have to file her sworn assets declaration for 2012. Argentina may have already gone dark by then.
