    Indemnizations for part time cleaners?

This won't have any effect at all. The majority works "en negro" meaning: informal with no pension, healthcare, etc. This will decrease domestic labour hired legally "en blanco". Informal work will grow despite the last years efforts in campaigns and financial help to legalize this working...

How much do your building porters earn?

This happens when the thirst for power intersects with demagogy, ignorance and bucket full of loonie-lefties redistribution worshipers. Lets take indiscriminately from the working economy mobilizing class and throw it to the lazy cicadas.

Level of Violence in Buenos Aires?

I back that statement. From the perspective of an entrepreneur it is required you prepare yourself to walk the line between legal and illegal, sometimes even cross it. Depending on the business type you may need to: bribe; hold as much as you can some tax payments; hire labor without any...

How much do your building porters earn?

This is one in the endless list of things that suck here. Impotence. That will resume how I feel about things like this. Subway, another good example. In the mean time, our finest doctors, scientists and engineers work for the bread and the water. In most cases flying away to europe or the...

Moving back to Argentina: Customs' question

Fabe, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Buenos Aires City existed in the first place only for the smuggling business. I need to bribe in a daily base. It's the way things work here, specially with customs. Logistics fees are completely out of chart since they monopolize transport...

    Police Station / Affidavit

I beg to differ. They simply give up. There's always a bribed prosecutor that would let them out for monthly fee. Police business here is more with prostitution than petty crime. What's the difference between you and bull crap?

cassiem13 yes you can. But be careful, if your activity declared is incompatible with what you are buying you could have some trouble with AFIP or your accountant. For eg. I work as a private consultant, there's no way I can justify buying at a supermarket with type A invoice in order to...

    English Pound collapsing

I'm with the chicken. No metal. You can't eat it. The world is overcrowded, there's to much greed at handful bankers and stock gamblers, the "system" is too wretched to last any much longer. Lets hit the mountains find a spot to sit and watch.

There is something I don't get...

We Argentines are always complaining. About everything, soccer, politics, economics, religion, healthcare, transport, crime, ... the list goes on and on. It would be hypocrite to complain about expats complaining after all the complaining we do in a daily basis. I think you are learning that...

    Private Healthcare

We always go there. During some time my sister worked there as a dentist and I know how it works. If you are in real trouble they move fast, very fast. The have all the necessary equipment to find what's going wrong. I can't know for certain if it is the best hospital in town, but for sure...

If the attention is good: the waiter does what you expect. 8% to 10%. If the waiter is an ass I call for the metre, and leave nothing at all. If the attention is good+plus i leave from 10% to 15%

    Rent Increases

Rest assured it will happen. Peso will depreciate abruptly in less than a year or so. This happened before many times. The main reason for this cycles (I'm certain we are at the end of one) is because of the increasing budget deficit and over subsidized economy, all this driven by constant...

    Rent Increases

What I can tell is that offer is growing and many people are moving out due to increased rentals. In sum, there are many new flats entering the market, so speculating I think rental fees will freeze. It's just my opinion.
