Paying Medical Bills - Need Pesos Quickly

One transaction! 4 separate transactions would be like $5USD x4 of BofA charges and 17 pesos x 4 of Citibank charges which would be really expensive, about $35 dollars (and instead I pay the cost of one transaction to get same amount of $$) However, I am about to avoid even this one payment by...

Paying Medical Bills - Need Pesos Quickly

    Acrobacia en telas

You know those people in the parks doing acrobatics on cloths tied to the trees? I really want to learn how to do it and I asked some women who were doing it in Plaza Francia how they learned. They said there are a ton of classes. I thought I could easily find some on google (and found a couple)...

    Monedero or Sube Cards

You may not be able to get a new Monodero card (i think they are phasing them out bc i couldn't get one at tribulanes the other day). Ask around to your argentine friends to see if anyone has a monodero they don't use anymore. This is what i did. My SUBE card snapped in half and I had trouble...

Paying Medical Bills - Need Pesos Quickly

The Argentine limit is definitely more than $2500 or $3000 pesos. I have withdrawn $4000 pesos at a citibank ATM (NOT in the banelco network) and have never tried more but my friend says he can take out 6000. Avoid pesky service charges, get a schwab card or use citibank large withdrawals (do be...

I'm Asia From America in Argentina-- and I need help

did you owe her rent (not clear on this) or leave before you promised verbally? i dont think it is worth the 800 pesos deposit to fight this, much better for your mental health to forget it. I got robbed by my ex-roommate of an entire month rent and deposit and though it sucked financially...

    ATM's??

Everyone should use CITIBANK ATM's that ARE NOT Banelco (you can withdraw up to some 6000 pesos at a time). I always withdraw a ton at once to avoid paying that 17 peso fee (and a $5 charge from BofA). (just read above post that said this doesn't work... not sure why that is but it has always...

    Hiking boots needed

Have you tried the series of hiking outlet stores on around the Cordoba intersection on Paraná? I shopped for shoes there and found some good ones for about 300-400 pesos from brands I had heard of (Timberland, Merrell). Which is actually not that much more than the cost in the US..

    getting to la paloma- uruguay

The bus tickets are pretty cheap, 170 pesos uruguayos from MVD to PDE. I was in Punta this past week and the waves on the Brava side were enormous. Wasn't safe to go in the water. Perhaps (hopefully) it has calmed a bit over the past few days!

Looking for a 1BR rent for one year

I think it would be quite hard to find a 1 bedroom much less a studio for only $500 a month Furnished in a classic barrio (without garantia?). 400-500 seems to be the going rate for a room rental/shared piso in these neighborhoods. I would start looking in Nuñez and the less expensive parts of...

    getting to la paloma- uruguay

Use COT bus company http://www.cot.com.uy/ They go to la paloma. Another company is COPSA though I don't know if they go. For the future, Uruguay bus companies: http://www.omnilineas.com.uy/companies/index.html A great way to avoid overpriced Buquebus.

I asked a taxi chofer about the hikes last night and he said the increase hasn't been approved yet but likely will.. He also mentioned that the cab drivers will get paid the same (?) and the profit from the hikes goes to the 'negocios'.. the drivers don't want the increase because less people...
