    Aerolineas - baggage

Ben, thanks for the clarification re: IATA resolution 302 (MSC), which I notice was redefined in 2015. I retired (35 years) from the airline/travel industry (air tariff specialist - "rate desk" - and ticketing) in 2004, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other IATA air carrier...

    Aerolineas - baggage

Aerolineas and Air New Zealand are code share partners, thus there are through fares to Aukland from Salta via AR. Because the flights are booked/sold via AR, and thus have a single AR flight number from origin to destination, said carrier's airfares and applicable rules from Salta to AKL will...

My Argentinian wife really dislikes the US. Typical of Argentinians?

Exactly. Neither has ever been to the US.

My Argentinian wife really dislikes the US. Typical of Argentinians?

Stantucker, I just laughed at them and pointed out that what they were saying about the US sounded a lot like Argentina, in its own special way, if you know what I mean. When I gave them particular details, neither could defend the facts. Immediately they turned the conversation in a different...

My Argentinian wife really dislikes the US. Typical of Argentinians?

Unfotunately, Silvie, that sense of superiority is alive and kicking. I was subjected to this attitude just six weeks or so ago at a birthday party, with two young women (both in their late 20s) vociferously telling me just how bad is US society/culture in comparison with Argentine society/culture.

My Argentinian wife really dislikes the US. Typical of Argentinians?

Stantucker, I couldn't agree with you more! It's nice to read something by someone who shares my views, thoughts, opinions. Thank you!

My Argentinian wife really dislikes the US. Typical of Argentinians?

Nice response, Stantucker, and most of your points apply as well to Argentine society/culture, although those that complain the most about US society/culture will be the first to vehemently deny such a comparison. As well, most of the latter are people who, as has been said, have never been to...

I live near Cristina: toxic air; I can't breathe

Bajo, where is your sense of humor? There's nothing in Sergio's post that is close to being "speech of hate", nor is it disrespectful to democracy and its institutions. You sound like someone who has been inducted into the intolerant world of Political Correctness.

Donald Trump coming to Buenos Aires...

You're the one that comes off as a fool with asinine information about your ostensible past military prowess. And what is there to "comprehend" about your statement? By the way, I suggest you check your grammar and spelling prior to posting comments.

Donald Trump coming to Buenos Aires...

CharleWAR, just what does your military service record and tour of duty in Vietnam have to do with this thread? Are we supposed to be impressed by this biographical information?

Donald Trump coming to Buenos Aires...

As much as I'd like to see the ManBaby out of the WH, I'd much prefer he be VOTED OUT. Pence, the toady of all toadies and a person of unfathomable falseness, would be just as bad, if not worse, than the Big Cheeto. Think THEOCRACY when it comes to Pastor Pence.

    Hospital Italiano Question

I've had my health plan with Hospital Italiano since December 2004, when no DNI or citizenship was required (I had neither at the time). That said, over the last fourteen years the hospital has enacted a number of changes to its health coverage policies for new participants. I am not surprised...

    General Strike June 25 2018

Last year's strike definitely affected flights in/out of EZE. I had a flight with American Airlines the day of the strike, so I called them two days prior and they changed my flight to the day before the strike. I'd call BA and see if they can change your flight.

Hard To Find/expensive Products From The States

A1 sauce is a table condiment like HP sauce, although both sauces are occasionally used in cooking to add extra flavor to particular recipes.

US retirees have you received this year SSA "proof of life" form?

Since I received the form last year, 2017, I'm not expecting it this year, although one never knows with SSA. Only once did I receive the form two years in a row. In the past years, the form arrived most often around the middle of June.

    Cupcakes in Buenos Aires?

Airy or dense, the key missing factor in most Argentine cakes is moisture. Over the past 14 years, I've discovered that most cakes (including budins) are baked far too long. Yeast baked goods are fine here, for the most part, but the basic egg/liquid/flour cake is a disaster.

    Dollar Up

Nancy and Tom, since you're from Seattle, have you dined at JUNEBABY in your fair city? Friday's New York Times, online edition, had a rave review for this restaurant, giving it three stars. I was salivating by the end of the article, especially after viewing a photo gallery of some of...

    Argentina Outdone

Let's forget about impeachment, etc., for the alternative is Pence, who is just as scary as the big Cheeto, if not more. VOTE them out!!

Receiving Mail/Packages in Argentina, Has Anything Changed?

Anyone here know if the situation with Correo Arg has improved re: receiving a letter-sized envelope from the US to a private residence in Cap Fed? This would be a friend sending me my new debit card. Too risky if sent regular air mail and/or certified? Any suggestions?
