Argentina and the joint Israeli/US war on Iran

Sorry, should have written "LIBYA" - which claimed credit for planting the bomb that brought down the plane over Lockerbie, Scotland. That bombing sealed the fate of a wobbly Pan Am, a great airline sorely missed by this ancient traveler.

Argentina and the joint Israeli/US war on Iran

Reminds me of when Reagan bombed Quadaffi's headquarters in Libya in 1986. Which eventually resulted in Iran's downing a Pan Am airliner over Scotland a year later, killing all people on it and a few more on the ground.

    I need a beach

Years ago I spent some time in San Salvador de Bahia, a colorful, lively town. Parts of it are historical, with many beautiful old buildings. I remember live music everywhere, great ethnic restaurants, and also street "capoeira: demonstrations, a Brazilian rhythmic mix of dance and judo.

    I need a beach

Try flying Business Class - many airlines have lie down seats, like beds, If your dates are flexible the cost may be quite reasonable. Maybe twice the cheapest cattle class ticket, but well worth it. And not too much, considering the whole cost of the trip: hotel, car, meals, medical...

    Purchasing a car

Over the years I have driven a superb Chevrolet Zafira, a prize lemon of a CRV Honda, and now have a Rav4 Toyota. The humble Zafira never let me down. After ten years I tried to trade it, but the model had been discontinued. So I traded "up" to the Honda, which kept dying on me about...

Budget cut: Train to Pinamar terminated

Rt. 62 connects Guido and Pinamar. No sense in maintaining an expensive, local train to serve towns already connected by road. @sergio. I fail to see the logic in your comment: " As for supporting a train that you don't use, do you propose eliminating state primary and secondary schools for...

Budget cut: Train to Pinamar terminated

It doesn't seem to make economic sense maintaining 106 kms of tracks and bridges for a train that runs twice a week. Does anyone know how many passengers use it each week, and what is the maintenance cost?
