Banned from entry for 8 years

I guess I should’ve done that in lieu of paying the overstay fee. The immigration officer did inform me that marriage to an Argentine would allow me back before the ban end date (I did mention my argentinian partner and was on the phone to them to ask for advice). The officer was quite surprised...

Banned from entry for 8 years

That would correlate with the entry ban end date being 8 years after my last exit rather than 8 years after today. Would have spent my birthday weekend in Buenos Aires but I’ll be in my 40s by the time that’ll apparently be possible again

Any recommendations? I don’t know how likely or possible appeals are/if there’s a potential visa route

Banned from entry for 8 years

Admittedly I did go by the general advice from here but it is what it is. I’d also incurred a serious injury a few months into that trip and was wheelchairbound for 4 months at which time I wasnt terribly keen on travelling so went with the overstay. I figured short stays after that wouldn’t be...

Banned from entry for 8 years

Interestingly the paperwork doesn’t have the “sospecha fundada - falso turista” marked. Only “prohibicion de reingreso” from “coincidencia en la base de aptitud migratoria”

Banned from entry for 8 years

I’m at least 95% sure prior to the overstay I never stayed 180 in a rolling 12 months. I’d leave for at least as long as I’d stayed

Banned from entry for 8 years

Yeah that’s about right. Prior to the 1.5 year stay I always stayed either 2 weeks or 2 months. I only had the one overstay and I’ve never done a visa run. It was an 8 month gap between the overstay and visiting in February

I’m not sure I can do anything now. They hurried me onto the return flight very quickly

Banned from entry for 8 years

They certainly seemed adamant it was 8 years and kept saying it

Banned from entry for 8 years

Yes, I gave my airbnb address and my flights were booked 10 days apart. Interestingly the ban seems to be 8 years from my last exit as opposed to today and I visited for just 2 weeks just 2 months ago

Banned from entry for 8 years

Seemed to be just one and when I asked if there’s anything they could do they said they’ll call their manager. I did say that I came in February for just 2 weeks and there didnt seem to be any issue - certainly nothing was said when I exited the country that stint. I was only planning to come...

I don’t have any more information sadly and my return flight is soon

Banned from entry for 8 years

that seems to be the case. Because of that 1.5 year stay. Well this has cost me thousands and I guess I’ll never be coming back

Banned from entry for 8 years

Just arrived at Ezeiza having last spent 2 weeks here in February and 1.5 years here 3 years ago. I’ve been banned from entry for 8 years and denied entry. Seems things have definitely changed as nothing was raised as an issue when I last exited Argentina. Was a long 17 hours flight here, going...

    Argentina is better than Australia

As a fellow Brit, I think you’re being quite facetious here. I could parrot similar tropes which I’ve first hand experienced in Buenos Aires that I’ve never experienced in London but I suspect it would fall on deaf ears. Antisocial behaviour exists everywhere and it has a different form between...

ICE killed US citizen in Minneapolis

In an ideal world that’d be true however the US is currently run by a convicted felon with a dubious and an unchallenged, or meekly if so, regard for law. Once you have unscrupulous criminals or those able to interpret the law without any kind of checks and balances you get some really horrible...

Over a million descendants of Spaniards have applied for citizenship, overwhelming consulates

Combined with extremely high youth unemployment, very poor wages, and a reluctance to invest in training staff, Spain and Italy both experience significant brain drains. As ever, these are only shortages locally as the pay doesn’t reflect the work especially if companies can even further...

Milei's 'shock therapy' makes Britain's current reforms look utterly feeble

Expecting The Telegraph to care about ordinary people is akin to expecting a fox to guard a henhouse. That being said, there is a point to contrast Milei’s radical changes (which I don’t at all agree with) to Labour’s stage fright of actually changing anything for fear of the media despite the...
